crushing Rob the Wop
not only for being
a truly fine individual
but for making my day
with his resurrection
and making me laugh aloud
for the first time in ages
as I read back through

Lee (red hair/jacket)

Postby nomadicone » Mon Aug 15, 2005 11:05 am

Monday night on the playa, 2004. Sangria soiree. Lamplighter party.

Met a beautiful red-haired girl--profoundly good kisser--named Lee.

It was a perfect encounter. A seamless exchange of instant connectivity and awareness. Two people who in a moment really *get* each other.
She inexplicably vanished in the morning. I never saw her again. It was oddly perfect. Beautiful, clear, fun. I've crushed on her ever since with absolutely no way to express it ... which increases the infatuation. But it was the moment more than the girl. A lesson in love, detachment, and engaging each experience as if it may be your last. Absolutely fucking perfect. I'll never forget her.

You just curl my toes, Sensei.
Crushing you for the following line last night:

Uh, the blender? Well... I was keeping my pet hamster in there, but Blue didn't know. She put some bananas in there and hit 'frappe' and ...
Oh, the horror. Anyone want a banana daquiri?

Then later, BlueNiteOwl offered up the results:

The original Bob for this:

Bob wrote:
joel the ornery wrote:and i do believe the left and the stop-the-war crowd do aid the cause of terrorism against the USA and the world.

Anybody done a survey on whether the Left uses more gasoline than the Right?

and dr.placebo for this:

dr.placebo wrote:I have no intention of submitting to religious fascism of any stripe -- Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, or whatever -- they all want to suppress the Other. And every single person is going to be an Other in some context.

I would have an easier time with whole Iraq fiasco if I thought that it was truly in support of freedom. I don't believe that it is, and stating that skepticism does not make me a supporter of terrorists. Nor does standing against suppression at home mean that I side with suppression anywhere else in the world.

Incidentally, in this land of the free you can no longer say "make a dead man come" on TV at the Super Bowl. Even if the tune has been broadcast without censorship for about 25 years.

Praise the lord.

The original Bob is a bad ass:

Bob wrote:FYI, I have it on good authority that the law in Finland is:

10 § (24.7.1998/563) Disturbance of religious peace.

Whosoever

1. publicly mocks God or with intent to insult publicly abuses
or defames what a church or religious community as defined in
the Freedom of Religion Law (267/1922) holds holy, or

2. through noise, threatening behavior or otherwise disturbs a
church service, religious act, other, similar religious practice
or burial ceremony

shall be sentenced for disturbance of the religious peace to a
fine or imprisonment of up to six months.

I am crushing my life ever since I came out here to NC.
I feel like I won some fucking lottery. And I mean, like,
I've been happy in my life before....many, many times...
but this just feels so...(not weird, but...)...it just feels....foreign...
yet not foreign...and if I think too much about it....or if I try to
analyze it all or too deeply...????....then I just get too "verklept"
(but not on a dramatic level, but on a deep "thank you angels ~
and thank you PEOPLE ~ or whoever is out there watching
over me and loving me" kind of level...

And maybe I just need to shut up or something...???

But, like, I'm really happy I'm here. You all have NO idea...

Wow!!!! :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Thank you, too Sensei.

Change is hard. Honesty is hard. Trying to undo the bad habits and damage of yourlife time thus far is hard. Sometimes you mess up bigtime.
When you do, it's good to have someone who will call you on your sh*t. And then if that someone will listen to your story about it and "get" what you were trying to do before it when wrong and respond with compassion for your basic humanity, that's even better.

Crushing Sensei for being able to see big and small picture at once.
