MONSTER MASH

Postby robotland » Fri Oct 21, 2005 10:55 am

EvilDustBooger has a GREAT idea for next year's theme...."Monsters"...So we need LOTS of ideas for monsters, monster names, and monster descriptions. I'll start:

Name: OOooonntzz
Description: Big and shiny, with thousands of blinking eyes. Big, mirror-toothed mouth.
M.O.: known to devour ravers whole.

Name: Lahontan Dust Monster
Description: Like a low, dusty hill...One HUGE yellow eye, only visible when open.
M.O.: Waits for unlit cyclists and pedestrians to trip and fall over it on the open playa in the darkness, and then flows over and digests them.

Name: Playa Grouper
Description: Like a giant sea grouper, with a long appendagelike tongue ending in a glowstick-like knob.
M.O.: lurks between structures, right off the Esplanade...You figure out the rest...

Name: Playa-wisp
MO: small bright floating ball of light waaay off in the distance. Only comes out on the darkest nights to lure the unwary out into the deep playa and lose them forever....

Name: Black Rock Gnomes

Description: Tiny humanoids which live between cracks in the playa surface during the heat of day and creep out at night to perform mischief.

MO: Sneak into campsites and loosen rebar, poke holes in water containers, and steal beer. A Black Rock Gnome infestation can be treated by thoroughly cleaning up all the MOOP from your campsite.

Name: Playa Serpent

Description: This gigantic scaled wyrm crawls under the Playa, with only it's giant red tongue visible above the surface. The motion of this monster is reported to leave giant sand dunes in it's wake. Dust storms often result as the creature surfaces or dives.

Modus Operandum: The Playa Serpent cruises around pretending to be a cozy conveyance with just it's tongue visible. Once prey has settled upon it's tongue, the Playa Serpent rears up and swallows the victims away...

I think Zaphod found a picture of one.

It might be the answer to JOTS mooping.
Just slide one of these babies in each John.
Looks like they`d take care of shredding up the handiwipes,
shoes, cans, trash.... the occasional low hanging testicle....
