Enlightenment!! Financial Freedom!! Other Burners!!

Postby lizwiz » Sun Nov 28, 2004 2:29 pm

Hi Y'all!
I just returned from this amazing conference in
Orlando. It was the best conference I have ever been
to. I agree 100% with the testimonials below. You will
be blown away by it, as well. Harv Eker certainly knows how to help you get your mind
in shape.

Here is my gift to the burning man community!
I felt like I was at burning man this weekend. I was high all weekend naturally just on the positive loving energy that was there. I met all sorts of burners and burningmanlike people. A lot of healers and intelligent individuals seeking personal growth and ways to help humanity.
These folks definitely "get it." The best part of it, is that you learn a lot about how your mind works and how the world works for free. It was my first time ever I didn't mind being sold something at the end of the conference because of the way they did it. In fact, I bought almost everything they had to offer because I felt like it was all priceless, just like burningman. It is a lot like burningman in that I am challenged to find words to express my experience. You just have to go to know.

Free Seminar: "How To Develop A Millionaire Mind" with

multi-millionaire T. Harv Eker.

At the end of this amazing Seminar you will be treated
to a shocking
GIFT WORTH OVER $2,000. You won't believe your ears.

greatest tools
(strategies and systems) in the world but if there's a
tiny leak in your
"toolbox" (your mind), you're going to have a problem.

Best selling author T. Harv Eker is the world's #1
guru in helping
people develop a "Millionaire Mind" so that you not
only have the inner
capacity to create a million dollars but, more
importantly, to keep your
wealth and grow it.

In this profound seminar you will learn:

-> The secret psychology of wealth!
-> How RICH people think differently than the
poor & middle class.
-> The hidden cause of almost all financial
problems!
-> Why knowledge & skill do NOT create wealth.
-> How your childhood conditioning is affecting
you financially
today.
-> How to train your "mind" to work FOR you
instead of against
you.
-> and much more.

And at the end of this amazing Seminar you will be
treated to a
shocking GIFT WORTH OVER $2,000. Don't even think of
missing this
life-changing seminar.

What I'm blown away by is your belief that any of us are interested in this shit.

It's commerce based and not appropriate here.

This is fucked.

This appears to violate the Community Guidelines. A post and PM to the admin has already been sent.

Thanks for your positive response!
You are so open minded!!

I legitemately am giving a gift to the community that doesn't cost them anything...

I think it is very appropriate for others on the path to enlightenment and financial freedom.

I asked the admin for clarification about this. It might not violate any rule but the overall tone may strike some eplaya users as being wrong. In any event if I'm wrong on the CG concern, there's a big plate of crow waiting for me. I'll take it and move on.

The offer Lizwiz posted is in fact free, so I see no violation of the Community Guidelines. Any hidden pyramid schemes, product offers etc. are not apparent at the level at which she is sharing this information.

Whatever. The spirit of the law seems to mean less than the letter of it.

It's still shilling for a commerce and profit based group. Tantamount to some crazed evangelical running into Liz's Camp Israel and suggesting that all the jews needed saving.

Please, don't tell me what to think; or what not to think, for that matter. And if this is your 'gift' to the community, may I politely suggest what you can do with it?

Honestly, this is the most insulting post I've ever seen. And she has no idea... Which means it wasn't intended as an insult. Which actually makes me feel even more sick to my stomach.

Liz honey, care to tell us what the $2k "secret" gift is? Yeah, I know; then it wouldn't be secret. Please, feel free to 'open' my mind...

You're a 'seminar' kinda person, aren't ya' Liz? How many of these have you been to, anyway? I mean, you said this was the best. Do you have any suggestions for someone (like me) who wants to see more the shameless ripoff type of seminar? I want to start at the bottom and work my way up...

Usually the $2k secret gift in these sorts of seminar schemes ends up being 'gifted' free attendance to yet another indoctrination gathering that's masked as a seminar. You know, one that usually charges $2k for someone just coming in off the street.

You get what you pay for.

And even though TP notes that no pyramid scheme seems to be at work - at least not blatantly so - the skeptic in me senses that our Liz saw eplayans as representing a target rich environment for making us all millionaires. Sorry, I'm smelling Werner Erhard hucksterism at its finest. If that seems cruel and heartless of me well, I'll own it.

There are some things that the community rejects even though it's not in the CG's or TOS. While gifts are always welcome many of us have been burned by schemes masquerading in packages similar to the one described above. We can't ban it outright, TP has already decided that. But we can certainly express our feelings that this shouldn't be here. And enough voices speak this individual will understand the concern and either provide proof to dispute the charges or pull the request / make a statement to that effect.

In other words expect more of the same type of posts saying this doesn't fit here.

It's intersting to look around at the web site that starts this thread. What's interesting is that you can prettymuch read War and Peace between the lines of what's not said.

No I didn't. I just said it didn't technically violate the rules we currently have. I think this would be a fine issue for discussion on the Case Studies thread if you wish to pursue it.

Tancorix, Badger, all -

Remember, the Community Guidelines are made by & for the community. The admins & I only help enforce them for you. You can change them if you want to, we just need to figure out a fair method for doing so - like a vote. (tho I do reserve the right for the admins to create the poll, as I think we can do it fairly while those with an interest may not)

You come up with new wording for the old rule, or a whole new guideline, state why you think it's important, get folks discussiong it, and then we can have a vote. 'kay?

wow, i'm glad everyone took the time to reply to liz's post. i think that it is a scam of SOME kind. the language is blatantly copied from all of those ugly "career opportunities" you see week in week out in the classifieds section of the newspaper. yuk! i don't like it around. going to another thread, but thanks for speaking up everyone. maybe that kind of thing will not return to this forum. :x

Liz: Badger has a good nose for these things. Here's the story of how I stuck it to the huckster "Man" without knowing what I was doing... and how it relates to Burning Man in my... ahem... psyche:
