Kamp Apokiliptika - Doom 2006

Postby Badger » Sun Aug 06, 2006 7:20 am

Thanks for that BBS.

Running scan now.

BTW, I think most folks here should consider the possibility that the contaminated link has EVERYTHING to do with an escalation of jene kleinen werkzeugheringe munchers trying to escalate board tensions here.

May I be the first to beg the the Kurnel to unleash the Rockets of Doom upon the herring lands?

EL Wire it is time to choose a side. You can no longer stradle the chasm between the two kamps.

Using a web browser that accepts any kind of active content from any/all sites by default is not good.

firefox is good

http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

the NoScript extension makes it even better

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/722/

Adblock and it's automatic filtersetG updater are also nice.

For what it's worth, it appears that the evil image has been removed (for those - like me - who can't bear walking past a crash scene without looking) The link now defaults to the site's root page.

Surfing with IE is like walking through Jiffy Lube with your pants down, swimming in the south pacific with an open wound, or attending a political fundraiser with a valid credit card (or so I imagine -- I wouldn't do THAT either.)

Have you ever been in JiffyLube, Boxa? I admit I have and that's not a good analogy to use. It's not like that at all.

As for Firefox I've held off making the switch...with all those addons though I need to get off my butt and try it out.

Oh, after some additional thought, my barely-educated guess is that the image in question may have been using the malformed jpg attack. That sucker will get ya if you save the image to your desktop and look at it there. (it has nothing to do with the download process -- or what browser you use, for that matter) From what I can tell, said images just display garbage -- which may be why it doesn't (didn't) show up on the e-playa post.

That was a flaw in the windows image rendering engine, and A fix has been out for this for months.

Time to check that all current patches/updates have been (and are being) applied.

You are probably correct. I was unfairly piggybacking on a stereotype. However, I do believe that stereotype will elicit an appropriately increased level of caution, which is what was intended.

I have returned safely from Oregon, where Mantis had a LOVELY time performing at the String Cheese Incident concert in Eugene.

I hope, given time and all, to post here an illustrated travel log of her adventure in the land of tie dye.

Oh, BTW... I'm sure that the image was not an intentional attack, but merely a Herring experiment gone awry.... nonetheless, the warning was in order!

B.B., Wires, et al:

It is so nice to hear that the Camp Herring staff will drive about in a BMW.

As for Kamp Apokiliptika, and in partikular the KAStaPo, we have ordered a fleet of Mercedes Benz staff cars.

Here we are on a Playa tour...

These will, of course, sport the new AMG (Apokiliptika Motor Grüpen) Apokiliptika wheel package.

Apokiliptika: This guy one of yours?

Postby ZaphodBurner » Thu Aug 10, 2006 11:11 am

The 34 year-old from Massachusetts, who has since been allowed to return home, ran amok in the western town of Morges, by Lake Geneva, two weeks ago,

He started babbling incoherently in the hotel lobby, stripped and ran naked along the quayside, broke a stained glass window in the nearby protestant temple with a stool and set a precious 1898 bible alight, police in Morges said.

After being seized and handcuffed by police, he made a leap for freedom into the lake and bit two people who tried to help him while he was hanging on to a boat. http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/08/0 ... 9k7v2.html

Yes Ladies and Gentleman, the DOOM DOME is ready for transport to BRC.

The Doom Dome will be our theater of performance art in the art of interrogation. There will be NO volunteers for the doom dome- rather, the subject will be selected by the Interrogation Squad. If I tell you anything more, you will have to be eliminated. You know too much already.

Yes Komrade Kernul. Communications have been down these last few weeks (all of the Northern Mountain Peoples Alliance mourn the loss of the Motherboard). Recovery of data is tedious. Perhaps a resend to ensure a glorious finale (all secret codices also lost until further notice).

The Tank armies are coming along nicely (despite near hurricane force winds here yesterday - I fear the enemies of the state are testing weather weapons). Weapon systems of unimagineable power and devistation of our own are now being developed to aid your forces as they vanquish hope forever. May the end day come soon.

Transmission ends.

Oh, Heli- we await the arrival of the sacred pole with great anticipation. The Chief Engineer will be pleased.
