Announcing the Miss Black Rock City 2006 Events

Postby MBRC » Tue Aug 01, 2006 9:06 am

The MBRC Project believes that everyone is beautiful, and everyone wins by participating. We have been busy spreading the message to many regional events all year round - will your regional event be next?! This is the Miss Black Rock City Project's third year on the playa, and we have three very special events in the works for you!

MISS BLACK ROCK CITY TIARA MAKING WORKSHOP
Hosted By: Atelier Rusette in New Amsterdam Village 7:30 and Destiny
Tuesday, 3:30pm-5:30pm

If you are thinking of participating in the Preliminary Event on Wednesday, or if you just want a funky tiara/headpiece to match a special costume, stop by and let us show you how to make something wonderful from furry chenille stems. Like all our events, all men and women are welcome - this time even kids are invited! StacycatS, host of the Miss Black Rock City 2006 events will also be on hand to answer any questions, come say hello!

MISS BLACK ROCK CITY PRELIMINARY EVENT
Hosted By: Alien Underground in New Amsterdam Village 7:30 and Destiny
Wednesday, 5pm-6pm

Represent your camp, your village, your region, your tent, or just yourself! Men and women of any (or no) sexual preference and/or identity are invited to participate. Everyone is beautiful and everyone wins by participating. An eating disorder, Vaselined teeth and double-sided tape are not required. The only thing needed to enter is a title starting with "Miss" and a sash that states this title! Participants will complete 3 "burner type" tasks, so we can see how you groove. Finalists will be chosen to move on to the main event Thursday. Remember: No pageant is fair, bribing is the new gifting! Participate for fun, rather than play to win.

MISS BLACK ROCK CITY MAIN EVENT
Hosted By: Disorient 8:00 and Esplanade
Thursday, 5pm-6pm
YOU MUST PARTICIPATE IN THE PRELIMINARY EVENT TO BE IN THE MAIN EVENT!

Finalists from the Preliminary Event on Wednesday (open to all men + women) will reveal their unique inner beauty in these three categories:

* Future Wear: The hope + fear for the future of fashion.
* 2 Minute Talent Competition: No rules, everyone has a talent be it a stupid party trick or a fine art!
* Interview: Do they do it for world peace, the children, or for the puppies?

All finalists are beautiful and everyone wins by participating. Fabulous gifts include custom handmade tiaras and an aerial tour of the playa with pilot Adam Meyerson. Hosted by StacycatS.

Hey all. The announcement was in last weeks JRS, I thought it prudent to bump this up a bit as it has the actual addresses of the camps that host each event (each event is at a different place - we like to spread things out a bit!)

for your viewing pleasure, here is a photo from the Miss Flipside 2006 Preliminary Event, taken at the Texas regional event in May of 2006:
