2006 theme: Hope and Fear ... JUST SAY NO!

Postby DelmerBT » Thu Dec 22, 2005 10:39 pm

Something has gone horribly wrong here. We might as well dedicate the entire event to L. Ron Hubbard and pass out Watch Tower pamphlets!

We have no one to blame except ourselves for letting this happen to our city. Muldoror is right; at least you can vote in Bagdad!!

Citizens of Blackrock we have gotten soft and this is the pathectic result. So what are we going to do about it... [/b]

It IS a little disappointing that they're neglecting a golden opportunity...Instead of "1939 World's Fair Man", I'd have preferred an erupting Dianetics volcano.

L. Ron Hubbard?

My fear for the future would be that the overpopulation of 76 colonized worlds might lead a galactic ruler named Xenu to – under the guise of collecting taxes – capture and drug entire populations to transport them in spaceships that look like DC8 aeroplanes.

Xenu might stack these billions of peoples with Hydrogen bombs around the volcanos on a planet called Teegeeack, then detonating the H-bombs, killing everyone. Then Xenu might collect all the souls of these victims with sticky electronic beams and make them watch special 3D movies which would implant them with false beliefs.

If the souls (or "thetans") came to cluster and inhabit people's bodies, then, those people would not be free . . .

UNLESS you could pay a cult a lot of money to clear you of your thetans!

Yep, that's my fear for the future . . .

But what if it already happened?! http://www.xenu.net/
I will not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone . . . there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

what's so horribly wrong about being horribly wrong?

Postby ravenluv » Wed Dec 28, 2005 11:52 pm

something may indeed be horribly wrong when my dyed-in-the-hiking-wool old skool deadHead buddy says "that's a good theme" when i tell him this year's theme. meanwhile, immediately after learning of the theme that holiday tune that goes "...hopes and fears, through all the years..." was running through my head constantly, and it was archie and edith singing it "all in the family" style. these are all terrible signs, and worse yet to discover that larry has been using the man to pay for his thetan removal sessions. damn it all!

i hope this theme doesn't live up to all my fears...or is it the other way around? i get so consufed this time of the here.

Ya mean that the thetans don't burn up when the man goes off?

CHARity begins at hoME

Postby ravenluv » Thu Dec 29, 2005 12:45 pm

not since 2003. the last two years the thetans just kind of smoldered and ended up a little charred.

from what i can tell, the thetans are now in control of the man design process. soon he will be made of metal, will not burn at all and will rise or fall depending on how much money we feed into his many money slots. also, he will be small enough to mass produce and eventually place in many locations (now we know the real deal behind the 'regional' plan). in keeping with the times, he'll also be able to take either credit or debit.

hey, i got another theme idea: Assets and Liabilities - The Portfolio

Just say no to hope or fear, or both?

Hmmm... maybe a yin-yang layout with positive vibes on one side and negative stuff on the other...

raising city-zen cane

Postby ravenluv » Thu Jan 12, 2006 2:09 am

dougly you rascal! for many days i've been sluggishly considering the idea of being a rabble rouser, but you have beat me to it!

just say NO to hope and fear! brilliant!

given that it's obvious i've encountered some kind of cult and am being influenced by it, i've pondered this hope and fear stuff very deeply. then one day i understood that my only hope for sanity was in dispensing with impassioned yearning for future results. i knew then that this hope-fear dichotomy was no zen thing.

it is a travesty. something has indeed gone horribly wrong. art deco, westernized dualistic theme, linear concepts of time, the man as a monument to cause and effect....all so very western. where's the world view? floating world, beyond belief, the body, the vault of heaven, psyche...all world view kinds of things, no?

maybe yin-yang is like hope-fear, but i'm not convinced of it yet.

Son... DO YOU SEE THIS? This is an Anger Prisoner. A textbook example.
DO YOU SEE THE FEAR, PEOPLE? This boy is scared to death of the truth.
Son, it breaks my heart to say this, but I believe you are a very troubled
and confused young man.
I believe you are searching for the answers in all the wrong places...

HOW IS THIS RELATED TO SCIENTOLOGY???

Postby madmatt » Sat Feb 04, 2006 1:12 pm

I guess my knowledge of Scientology and Landmark Forum are not deep enough to understand why there is so much talk about the theme being related to those things and that BM has been "hijacked."

Anyone have a brief explanation?

Ok, that's a lame ass excuse for an explanation. It was brief, I'll give you that.
