12 AWESOME BURNERS LOOKING FOR A CAMP TO ATTACH TO !!!

Postby RainbowSprite » Wed Jul 15, 2009 5:26 pm

Greeting to all of ya fellow burners !!!!

We are a group of 12 mostly European thats looking for a great camp to share a place on the Playa with .
We have a nice big hookah dome and a shower and a kitchen and a lot of other stuff . We would be more then happy to share that all with you.
We are not strong enough to be on the playa by ourselves yet so we need some support and guidence.
We are super chilled and will be a good addition to any camp.
Please email me if this is something you can help us out with.

Many Many Thanks !!!

I'm confused. 12 people is probably more than the average camp size.

I don't want to be rude, but what "strength" do you lack and why would anyone want an addition of 12 with so much infrastructure yet so little faith I their abilities?

Our base camp is four people, no dome, shower or kitchen.

You can do it, yes, you can!

I was wondering that too M? With that much infrastructure all you need is a space to throw up your camp.

A little organisation now goes a long ways.

I do understand this seems a little odd. One of the main issues that we have is that we all arrive to the playa at different times. Majority arrives on Tuesday night and me and one or two people want to come in on Monday morning. I cannot possibly build the dome and other stuff by myself but I wanna be able to survive until the rest of the crew arrives.
Also I don't see what the big deal is about joining other camps. I have done it before and all had an awesome expirience. It's a great way to make new friends.

Not a big deal, no, just confusing for those of us who do not have the big picture. Thanks for explaining.

There used to be the Burner Hostel camp (or whatever it's called), for those traveling from overseas, but I don't know if they are still in existence. Your other options may be trying to get in with Hushville or AEZ, but you would have to conform to their standards, and they may be filled up already.

If you were bringing children, you could join us in Kidsville, but you need to have at least one minor (17 or younger), in order to join our village.

Then there's always Barbie Death Camp, if you like torturing Barbie and flamethrowers...

How much room will you take

Postby zorro sings » Thu Jul 16, 2009 9:38 am

This sounds like a real wild card for any camp already registered. And although we are partial to wild cards at our camp our intrigue is tempered by one major concern. That concern for us and any other camp interested would be how much room do you need? How many vehicles are you bringing? What size? How many tents are you pitching?

As you are perhaps aware all camps requested a certain amount of space in their registration.Sometimes they get more, sometimes less.To try to fit you in at this late stage, givin the size constraints the camp is already committed to,could be very problematic. Not impossible but would take great orginization and communication at your end.
Well it's not something I want to do on an overseas phone.............................Omar Suarez

just pick your spot, start setting up, and ask your neighbors if they would help you. Provide refreshing beverages and some snacks (Americans love snacks, snacks are our state symbol. Look at our seal, it is an eagle holding arrows in one foot, snacks in the other.)

Hi Masha,

No stress was intended.

Since your team looks well prepared it may be just as fun for you to consider picking up a few long distance travelers to help you build the dome and infrastructure on Monday.

If you read the posts in this forum there were several peeps from Italy, Australia, South Africa, England etc looking for camps and willing to participate.

There is also this thread with camp personals:
viewtopic.php?t=29066

You could make this a grand gift of sharing for a few folks that made very long treks to a strange land.

Again, just an idea, no stress

The Black Rock City International Burner hostel is no more. It got to be too much of a hassle for the people running it.

Aloha Masha!
Just an idea... You and the couple of people who are coming Monday could set up small tents the first night and then when the rest of the crew gets there set up the Dome.

We are not a Theme Camp were a day time BAr- Blackie's Bar & Grill- But if you want to come camp near us- 9:15 and the second to last ring - I'm sure We could recruit enough help to get a Dome UP! Last Year there was MASS room on the 9:00 side.

I also think Barbie Dealth Camp & Wine Bistro may still have room for camps in their Village.

I've heard that if you immediately set up your propane grill and start making bacon, Burners will pour to your camp and, possibly, help...

They will just eat your bacon and disappear.
