Hello, my name is Tanner and I'm TT120's new grandson. I'm 4 weeks old and cute as a button. I like long naps, warm milk, and boobies.
My hobbies will be dirt bikes, camping, fishing, RC cars and planes. Hopefully I'll see you on the Playa in about 10 to 15 years. :D :D :D

Howdy! My name is Rick and I'm coming to Burning Man for the first time in 2014. I retired this week to the piney woods of northeast Texas. My wife of 33 years, Donna, passed away the morning of December 24, 2012. I will be posting her picture in the Temple. I guess that's one of the reasons I'm coming to BM, to say goodbye, and begin another chapter in my life. It will also be a 60th birthday present to me, and I hope it will be an annual experience. I plan on volunteering and putting the skills of my former job to work on the Playa. I have already submitted by volunteer application, and got registered for early sales today. BM will be part of a longer road trip in my new RV, which I have aptly christened "Las Casita de la Playa"

I am looking forward to the event. I drove out to the Playa last August as they were laying out the entry roads and streets, but couldn't spare a week to go to BM.. That's when the magnitude of Burning Man hit me.... for 60,000 souls to travel so far from civilization and exercise the Ten Principles is a marvelous thing. I can only hope that I can contribute something to the experience.

Welcome to the World, Tanner!

Welcome, Rick! I'm so sorry about Donna. I hope putting her picture in the Temple will mark that new chapter. It can be hard to know what the Burn will do to you, and what you will do to It.

Welcome, BootKickingStrumpet! I dig your nickname.
Hell, I resemble your nickname.

Awesome! Very much looking forward to meeting Elliot. Our gifting project may involve some slight accessorizing of the bicycle(s) ... we will talk more once we move further along with the design.

Cheers!

Accessriotizing should be fine. Anything that can be removed. Try not to paint or weld. :D

Hello everyone. I am a birgin with a vehicle pass as of today and can't wait to make my way to the playa. I have been lurking around on the eplaya for a while, reading, learning, laughing, and look forward to meeting and hugging you folks. I got this close (fingers very close together) to making it out there in 2013, but it wasn't meant to be. It looks good so far for 2014. Fingers crossed..!

Hey Sadie, welcome to ePlaya! I was about to wisecrack that you better have bought a ticket to go with your vehicle pass -- then I see that you didn't! Very clever. I think.

Hi Elliott! And thanks for the welcome! Yeah, the only guarantee so far is that my van will be allowed through the gate.. I am hanging on to positive vibes that I will be able to purchase an actual event ticket in Feb... I will definately re-read, and re-read again the first timers guide. I was literally days away from loading up the van last August when everything went pel mel. Looking forward to meeting you.

Ha Ha Ha ... I was just imagining myself with a welder in hand ... "Somebody's gonna get hurt a real bad."

No welding, or painting of bicycles is in our dusty future. I'm not ruling out a little painting on me however.

Paint on you, eh.... I keep wanting to add body painting to my camp. Not sure why, except that I have plenty of canvas shaped like a spare tire. I've tried to recruit Patsh to do painting; she has the artistic skill. Who else was it wanted to get into that? Somebody recent. I'm pretty sure I know of a good source of proper theatrical skin paint by the gallon, not too expensive.

Do you mean live music? 'Coz if you do, that's ain't just whipped cream, kiddo! Burning Man desperately needs more live music. Tell us more!

And yes, there are venues for you to play, from small bars to large stages. Stick around and we'll get you aimed in that direction.

And Welcome to ePlaya!

Hello my fellow beautiful humans my name is Melissa and I am new to the burning man community. I plan to attend for the first time with my best friend Stefanie (Firedancer07) this year and I am super excited to meet and share this experience with all of you whom I encounter.

I am a kidney transplant recipient and I have had plenty of ups and downs in my life but I'm still here, gracious for everything and everyone that I connect with amidst my journey.

I am originally from Michigan and I've been living in Naples, Florida for the last 3 years now. In moving to Florida I've realized that I'm a sun worshiper and I cannot imagine living anywhere else, I truly love it and I'm blessed to have been able to make such a move.

I am going into this as I go into all of my life ventures, with no expectations of what's to come. My plan as a burning man virgin is to simply observe and enjoy.

Hope to see you on the playa! :D

Welcome, Sweet Melissa! You know there is a song about you, right? Observing and enjoying is a good idea for your first year. Of course, you don't want to just be a spectator either, so keep your mind open for opportunities to contribute.

There should be some sunshine for you.

Welcome to Sweet Melissa, Kale, & Caroline!

Caroline, keep an eye on the 2014 Art & Performance forum
https://eplaya.burningman.com/viewforum.php?f=362

There will be a thread called "Stages Looking for Artists" in a month or two. Lots of camps with stages are looking for musicians. There are also all kinds of camps with sound systems. The large sound camps usually have their DJs booked already, but medium-sized or small camps might be willing to let someone play or DJ live. The more of your own equipment you're willing to risk in the dust, the better. The talcum-fine dust will get into pretty much everything, mind you. :)
