one thing i mentioned to a few different people last year is that the only thing missing from buringman is a giant half-pipe!

I didn't see any ramps last year....but that doesn't mean it wasn't there.

There was the rollerderby......

I know our sub-camp is going to have a half pipe this year. As time gets closer, i'll post more info as to where it will be this year.

Mini Ramp

Postby fBoMtXo » Tue Jan 11, 2005 8:38 pm

There was a mini ramp at BM last year. It was somewhere around Jupiter and 2:30. It was about 4 ft on one side with an 8ft extension on the other, about 8ft wide. I ride BMX so i borrowed a bike and rode it a while. If there is gonna be a ramp there this year i will definitely bring my bmx bike. I would be happy to help build it if you are gonna build it or put it together on the playa, i have much experience building ramps.

there was a ramp @ a camp titled "Roots" I believe... I fluttered by one afternoon and people were playing hip hop, which was a nice change of pace with the music i had been hearing (techno). i love it out there......was my first year. ahhhh can't wait to return : )

Wow. I am a completely talentless skater but would love to see this and try to injure myself on it. You could always go for the graffed up painted over look -- it's arty, it's interactive, you will experience your own consciousness firsthand when you whack the back of your skull against plywood. How does it not fit the art theme?

FIRE miniramp IDEA!!!!

Postby BM4LIFE » Mon Jan 24, 2005 12:37 pm

Just drill tons of small holes in the coping and then cap the ends off and run a fitting for a propane tank to one side of the coping and viola, flaming coping mini ramp session. I will look into it more, I have a dream, and it's a good one. watch out for me were gonna burn everything.
