Pyromid/Eggchair RIP

Post by KurtRuckus » Thu Sep 04, 2003 12:24 pm

This was the last year of the Pyromid (and I'm pretty certain the same is true for the Eggchair). Thanks to all of you that have come to our burns or partied in the Pyromid over the years. It's been a blast. Sorry that we couldn't put on the elaborate Death Battle we wanted this year. The BLM really messed that up. With the arrest threats and the burueacratic nightmare it's become to have our little burn, there's not a doubt that we will not be coming back as a structure next year.

A bunch of different people came up to me the night of our burn to tell me that we're one of the reasons they keep coming back or just that they always come to our burn and how much they liked it. It meant a lot to me when my spirits were in the gutter after a particularly difficult week and prep for our burn. Thanks! We're collecting any pictures or video footage for our archives as well as people's stories or recollections, so please share. You can find us on the web at http://www.pyromid.org or email me at [email protected].

I think next year I'll be in Guca, Serbia for the Trumpeters Festival instead of BM, but if I ever come to Burning Man again and you need a stilt man with fireworks shooting out of his head to help ignite your artwork (or not for Burning Man, just a wedding or birthday party, whatever), get a hold of me.

Much love,

Kurt

It was a great burn... the music, fireworks, stilt walking, all of it. Truly a Burning Man performance that will be missed.

Here's the one image I have so far. Good to know what it looked like from a distance since I have no clue what's going on off the top of my head. Thanks to Steve Fritz for the pic. Please keep them coming.

Hmm... doesn't look like it will show here. If you get a little box but no image try hitting the Back, then Forward buttons on your browser. Otherwise, here's the link http://www.geocities.com/senior_ruckus/ ... _small.jpg

By now a few more of you should have got your pictures back. Anyone else got pics of the Death battle or otherwise?
