Is it true someone broght a CAMEL to the playa?

Postby HappE » Wed Aug 11, 2010 1:39 am

When animals were allowed, what animals did people bring?

Rumor: I heard someone had a Camel who Crapped a stinky pile in someones camp. The ppl in that camp confronted him about this sloppy messy Camel Turd...
He responds with, "That's not my Camel Shit"

then not sure what happened after that. War or something...

I saw a video of an old BM and people were riding horses. Go to YouTube and type in "Burning Man Camel". I think that's what you're referring to...

The camel was in the 90s.
The story varies, I heard it as someone taking a ride on someone else's camel and replying "It's not my camel." Something of a byword on non-participation.

I remember in about 1999 there was a camel that was kept in a pen on the playa just next to the esplanade. I did not hear about his bowel escapades.....but I saw him.

well, one can only hope, if a person were to bring a camel, or camels, and knowing the harsh chemicals present in playa dust, that, they'd be sure to care for it's toes..........

My first year at the burn there were two Camels. They were on the Esplanade at around 7 and Esplanade.
