The Two Things about Burning Man

Postby Selkie » Fri Aug 27, 2004 8:48 am

Okay, so I just found this site and I think we should come up with some ideas for what "The Two Things" are about Burning Man.

Here's the site to give you an idea of what "The Two Things" could be.

The basic concept is that for every general subject (thing, place, people, job, etc.) there is really only two things you need to be told to really know everything about it.

Now, since I'm a virgin burner, mine might be way off, but I'll give it a whirl.

The Two Things about Burning Man:
1. Leave your expectations at home.
2. Don't leave everything you need to survive at home.
"Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society."

So if you perceive logging trucks to be made out of foam rubber, you can jump in front of them?

I think I'll have to amend the blanket statement to say:
Reality and mental status determines perception. Mental status can be conditioned or artifically influenced to create a specific perception, but reality always has the final word.
The other, other white meat.
