well, I put in a bid for a house this week. Found out that I did not get it. There were twenty bids.
I wasn't in love with this house, but it bodes...

If you need to sit in the bathroom at work for a little quiet time, that's fine; but if there are multiple stalls, and you have a wheeler working there, don't do this in the cripple stall. Really. Really and truly.

This was in this week's JRS. I thought it might be interesting. This is probably not the best place for it, but I'm sure that it's not the worst place either.

Burning Progeny: The European Efflorescence of Burning Man

Euroburners! Check this out! Graham writes:

"Burning Progeny is a research project exploring the culture of Burning Man in Europe, focusing on European satellites of the world’s largest temporary city. If you’re a Euroburner, and have been a participant in Burning Man Regional Events in Europe, we invite you to participate in this electronic survey, which is designed to assist understanding of the shape and direction of the Burning Man movement (and its Ten Principles) in Europe.

Burning Progeny is inspired by the way Burning Man is flourishing around the world, with Europe being the region of strongest growth outside North America. Designed by Burner researchers (Graham St John and François Gauthier) at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, the survey has been developed in collusion with the Black Rock City Census team.

The survey will close on Feb 28. Complete the survey (your participation is appreciated!).

Please direct all inquiries to Graham St John: g.stjohn@warpmail.net"

Well, artists have to eat, and fund new projects.
And getting art out in public is a good thing.

Snuggles into the NEB with a good morning hug for MDF. Slept in this wonderful rainy morning. Morning Anti M, Captain, Elliot and YG. Hey YG, if you are down this way, and are so inclined, come by. We'll have dinner for you if you like. Hope you're feeling better. Watched the Olympics Opening last night. Pretty spectacular. Some great fire happenings as well. Reminded me of the Burn. Turns attention back to (((MDF)))  :coffee:  :D

Good Morning All !

Yes the Opening ceremonies was creative and spectacular pageantry
watched with my oldest son (the one who started me out with BRC when it began on the beach)
he kept saying it was burning man worthy techno-pyro
I had been saying it was time for me to retire and he reminds me that I promised to place hold until he resumes his role

Yggy, I would really like you to visit if you can.

Good morning all.
Forecasting lots of rain here in northern Nevada, they even issued a flash flood watch for the hill later this afternoon and tonight.
Hope all who are not feeling well do get well soon.

It was an engineer from the Missouri DOT who designed the tow plow.
I work for the Nevada DOT in Reno. We have two. Ours have a 5yd sander along with a brine tank. I like MO DOTs position of the hydraulic hoses connections. On the right rear of the truck. Ours are located in the back between the bed and the pintle hook and trailer draw bar, making hard to connect/disconnect the "quick connects" There's, I think about eight hoses. One to lower the blade, one to raise it, one to turn the trailer, one to return it, one for the sander, one for the brine system, a return line, maybe seven. Air hoses for the brakes, two plugs, all crammed in a three square foot area. Plus two heavy duty safety chains. And if the hydraulic hoses are pressurized?
They do the job of two trucks with about a 10% increase in fuel. Several states have them along with Canadian Provinces. I think they're cool.
