Evening Bar! Hi Le Chat, CO, OR, VC, Mike, ygmir, any I missed.
I bailed on my plans to go do a cool thing in S.F., too tired, and thinking of staying up very late was not appealing after a hard day and hard week.
I like Vulture Chow's idea of doing something entertaining, and perhaps marginally regrettable, and then paying for it with industry tomorrow. I washed all the things, but the trike, and now it's time to put back all the things, and put all the things back in a better way.
I'm making some tea.

Is that your teapot? It's gorgeous. I collect teapots. They're my only collection. I know there's an artist near Gerlach that does pottery. I've always wanted to stop in and see if he's got a teapot.

Oh, I wish. I'd invest in that sort of teapot. Mine is generic blue, like this. I do have a real down filled cozy that swallows the little thing up.

That's the one. I'm probably coming west for the booze train to reno in January. I'll contact them to see if they have something available or if I can commission a piece.

Part of my collection.

My most prized acquisition is a china teapot retouched with a He-Man silhouette that I got at an LGBT fundraiser that was all about He-Man art. I basically stalked that silent auction sheet for 3 hours. No one else was getting it. I was absolutely obsessed with He-Man as a kid.

This sent me looking for my tea pot. Nope. Haven't used it in 15 or 20 years so it has vanished. It was a good one too. Now, back to my cup o tea.

I like your teapot collection, VultureChow. And I have to admit to a certain attraction to the He-Man silhouette teapot. Sounds fun. What the hell was his green tiger-like companion's name?

The art auction was interesting with a few big names and way more homoerotic imagery than the original cartoon including an explicit oil portrait of a well hung Skeletor.

I had given money to the group before (a shelter for homeless lgbt youth in NY) and when the invite came in, I had to go. (Heh. I just googled it. Never realized it made HuffPo: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/05/skeletor-saves_n_845007.html)

Anyway my plan worked. I'm mildly hungover and starting to clean like a maniac. Overnight someone also offered me a better deal on the big ticket item I was considering, so I'll go with that. All things considered, a successful Friday night.

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Oooh, teapots. I have some beauties, but nothing truly collectible. Many from Japan, a few handed down from my mother. One etched glass one from Shiraz. Oh, and all the cat teapots and a few duck shaped teapots. I do have a glass case with toy teapots, and a printer box with mini teapots. If I ever put my one inch scale dollhouse back together, it has a teapot collection (including mini versions of my larger teapots).

Uh yeah. I have teapots. My daily use one is a plain white small pot I stole from Denny's in Japan. I sent a lovely Noritake teapot with a creamer a sugarbowl to a friend's daughter who is into tea parties. Domestic Noritake, from a Japanese neighbor, old, not available in the US. So glad it isn't malingering in the china cabinet anymore.

Your collection is lovely, and I really like the shelves you have them on. Nice!

A funny old cottage pot I have had for ages:

That's right, there was no picture. Largely because I've got no teapot collection

There are some cool-looking teapots in the above pics, though. I tried becoming a tea drinker a couple times, but never managed to get the hang of it and it never took.

Off we go to the farmer's market, we haven't been since early August. It's not even so much that we're buying tons of stuff, but it's a fun place to explore. Have a good Saturday everyone!

Blargh... the tiny bits of sunshine I saw poking through this morning were deceptive. Heavy cloud cover rolled in and it was soon starting to rain. We scuttled our farmer's market plans, and instead went to a nearby restaurant we'd been wanting to go to for ages, and then crossed the bridge to hit up one of my favorite lumber yards so Pandorra could decide what wood she wanted to use for some furniture we're planning to build, and I could pick up a router bit.

Hey! Edmund Fitzgerald porter was on sale at my grocery store when I got there today, so, I think I will get wrecked. 8) I was drinking that great stuff in pints at my favorite bar Thursday night, talking to a coworker who wants to be a Burner. He's a good guy, I think he gets it, and I will try to get him in here.

Le Chat, I am going to try to cruise through your town early next year and maybe look you guys up! Would love to see your workshop. 8)

Yggy, good luck with the signing & moving and throwing of $$$.

Trilo, sorry you had rain, home you had nice warm fun-time with your sweetie. 8)

AntiM, VC, Elorrum, I love teapots too, but my go-to is a good old Brown Betty. :D

Rain here today too. What I will call the "second rinse" for the car I washed on Thursday. Cleaning dusty things: Things that weren't dusty in comparison to the very dusty. Now that the very dusty is clean, the not as dusty stands out. MMM, playing with my radio things, music playing quietly everywhere I go instead of loud in one place. There's a Friday night bike ride once a month in San Jose, it's a bit of a lark and some folks from work are starting to enjoy it. I'll try to have something fun ready for next month. I'm drinking coffee and trying to get things done, more stupid things done faster, like the button says. Have a pint for me, My Dear Friend.

I'm doing dull things here. Making sure this month's bills are paid, setting up next month (blerg), a bit if sewing, using up leftovers in a quiche (yum), laundry, fussing with cats. Windy as heck out, we might get rain tonight.

pretend we listen to country music when we are sober. (whoops I guess I do) This was playing on the radio when I was in the entry line this year.
