Dang, been absent too long. Busy with this bloody show. Will all be over on Saturday night Feb 2 and I get my life back. Meanwhile, I miss you all and happy to see so many new faces and old friends. Have a bad case of Reno Envy ... wish I could be with you all!

Cheers

I definitely weakened my defenses with yesterday's working in the rain, I probably didn't drink enough booze last night to fend off the germs ;) I got a late start and much slower start than I wanted, and it's been slow going. I got sidetracked with some unexpected progress on some other projects I'm working on, so hooray there, but otherwise I'm just now going to get a chance to make a couple runs back and forth between storage joints. Then I've got to get back home and get myself cleaned up to go over to the museum of modern art for an 'artist talk' with Leo Villareal (NYC artist from disorient camp) about his Bay Lights project, which just started doing tests recently (the installation opens officially on March 5).

Welcome back almost, knowmad, and hang in there Marty - the show will go on and the joy you'll get from it will be worth all those crazy hours and all that effort :)

yeah ASD, the steroid nasal sprays would be great, I'm sure, but being un insured, I hate spending 100 bucks on a little sprayer like that.......not to mention the doc charges 100 bucks to exam and write a scrip.

so, I rendered some fat, that I had the butcher save from my last pig.
cooked slowly and poured off the golden liquid.
and saved the crunchy little things at the bottom.

anyone have suggestions for uses? what did I just ask? uh oh.
I'm sure it's bad for me to eat (much), but, well, just wondering.

Mmmm - rendered pig fat, good for having as a secret weapon when cooking up other stuff :-)

It turned out that my sweetie had the dates mixed up on the Bay Lights talk, but it still meant she was home early and we were out and about on a dry and back-to-normal-weather evening in SF. We walked around a bit, then went and tucked in at a fancy new chinese restaurant. Really tasty stuff, then we finished off with a creme puff from Beard Poppa. Very decadent night, food-wise.

I wish I were going on the trip, but hey, we're going to PV next week. Sun and sea, just right for me. Sadly, we're still broke as hell from the last vacation, and the holidays, and tickets are also next week. But hell, who needs savings?

Yggy, I've got just the thing for you. Those crunchy little things at the bottom, the 'cracklin's', friggin taste awesome when you put them atop baked sweet potatoes. Add butter-flavored spray to the bottom of the pan you put the sweet potatoes in. Remember to cut up the sweet potatoes after you peel them before you put them in the pan. They'll cook faster that way. On top, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon, and marshmallows if you want to really make something rich and yummy.

Yummy, sweet fatty goodness.

Figjam, that video was delightful.

The best part was that I realized the baby was fairly faithfully crossing both arms when Psy was, and waving just one fist when Psy does that.
