There are many BM videos I like but the frenetic pace, chaos, and music make this one my absolute favorite.

The other side of the Burn, and with the current playa conditions we're looking at a dusty year!

Perfect, a dash of fear to go in with my anticipation and excitement. All I need now is a pinch of nausea and I'm fuckin set 8)

yeah I have been hearing that to Eric. Because of the non presence of winter/water it is the worst it has been sense like the 1880's So it is going to be VERY dusty this year and I guess hotter then normal but one would think with the layer of dust floating around it would semi shade the playa?

PS did he ever find his cowboy hat and I love the idea of classic ballroom dancing in the dust storm! Hey when life hands you lemons make a damn spiked lemonade!

Don't fear dust storms, respect them. Make sure you're prepared for them (those videos show why you want a good dust-mask & really good goggles) and that your camp is prepared for them and you'll be fine.

Besides, the dust will be in everything you eat, everything you drink and in every crevice on your body; learn to love it!

+10000 it will most certainly be a dusty bitch this year. About 2 weeks ago while traveling from ferntucky (fernley) to fallabama (fallon) I witnessed a huge dust storm out along the roadway...we're kind of used to them out here. They suck!
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

This Is Weird TV!

Postby gyre » Wed Feb 15, 2012 7:18 pm

Weird TV is where I first heard of burning man.
I didn't have a clue what it was at first.

The show is now out on dvd, and I urge everyone to call netflix and ask them to carry the show.
Much of it is very burny.
There is another show using the weird america name that is unrelated.
http://www.weirdamerica.com/

netflix 877/742-1480

Chuck Cirino started attending in 1994.
There are a lot of burning man videos posted on youtube under weird america and weird tv.
http://www.cirino.com/demo/scr_1.html
These include carhunt and the driveby shooting gallery.

Among other burning man videos, he made one called Burning Man 1997, 82 minutes.
This was never distributed commercially, but thanks to a friendly renotarian, I have been able to borrow a good original tape.
Chuck Cirino has given me permission to make copies for other burners.
It's a remarkable record of what burns used to be like, and interesting to see the burn that nearly ended the event.

Weird TV is probably responsible for most of burning man's early publicity.
I didn't know what it was, I just wanted to go.
