Thanks remi! I'm all excited now! I don't have too much to do or buy, but I have a sewing machine and plan on putting some things together! Wheeee

Have all the confirmations gone out? How long does this normally take? We've got a couple of low income applicants in my camp who are waiting to hear, and I don't want to hassle them for fear of making them as anxious as I am...

It could be any day now Ff! Getting 4,000 emails out will take a bit of time. I'll keep my fingers crossed for them!

Not everyone's applications got in at the same time, so remember it's 6 weeks (ish) from when they sent it, not when applications opened (they may have sent first day, I have no idea). LI applications are also carefully scrutinized by people to make sure "the best" applicants are chosen, and we don't know what the criteria is - some applications are going to take longer while they decide if they like "the fit" of an applicant.

Basically, continue breathing and remaining calm. We know the emails have started, but they do not all go out at once (as far as I know).

So, some of my friends have gotten acceptance emails, and while I'm still compulsively checking my inbox for ANY word,    Maybe I should try some sort of rain dance to at the very least ease my nerves?! Yes, I think some good ol' fashioned boogie action is in order. Keep your head hopeful lovelies!

Are they still accepting Low Income ticket applications? My girlfriend just found out that her PhD program starts on October 1 and this will be her only opportunity to attend Burning Man in the next 5 years. So we definitely want to go this year! :D

However, costs are an issue for her and she didn't want to apply for LIT back in March due to her uncertainty about future plans. Hopefully they're still accepting applications :)

Go to the tickets page and check for yourself - applications are being accepted as long as there's a link to the application form

Thanks, TB! I did see that the link was available and told her that she should submit her application ASAP. I guess I was trying to get a handle on how many are still left and if it was even worth applying. I guess so!

I think she'd be a great candidate for the LIT as she's a grad student not making much money and her research involves the intersection of art and science (she creates new chemical materials to protect art from light and environmental degradation - perfect for the Playa!) :D

Hey banana8bird, any update on your application?

I'm also still anxiously waiting for a reply. I did email them almost 2 weeks ago and they said that they are in a bit of a delay. Seems normal to me.
Hopefully this will be my 2nd time heading out there. Hard to keep focus on other things when your friends are already planning.

Other than by email, is there any other way - perhaps Burner Profile? - that you can know you have a low income ticket? In case the email is deleted before you ever read it.

Can anyone confirm the May 27th closing date for low income ticket application? I announced it on our personal burner group and someone rejected that date saying it had closed a lot earlier. I am unsure and I like to be sure about things.

Additionally, perhaps the application /was/ closed for a while and then re-opened and that is causing confusion? Refresh my memory please.

Thank you for your time.

I just hopped right over to the ticket info page and read the Low income Ticket section, which confirmed that they closed May 27th.

Amazing, really, how organized and easy to find all of that information is.

I am trying to confirm that date. I was able to find it and show it to my friends, but they argue it's an incorrect date. Thanks.

If your friends are arguing the date posted on the official Low Income page on the official Burning Man website is incorrect, they need a lot more help than you are going to be able to give them.

Wayyyyyyyy late in the game, but me and at least four other people in my group were lucky enough to get low income tickets! We found out beginning of April, and its all our Virgin Burn. Could not be more honored, and secondly, more excited. As someone who is heading off to graduate school to become a Naturopathic Doctor, I could not be more pleased that the Burning Man administration considered me a worthy member of the BM community. Love and happiness for all those who got LI! See you on the Playa in THREE MONTHS!!
