Black Rock Observatory Fundraiser

Postby Wabi Sabi » Sun Jun 29, 2014 7:35 pm

The Black Rock Observatory's Kickstarter is under way! The Black Rock Observatory, the BRO, is the first ever observatory at Burning Man! The stars are amazing at night and now we're bringing you a 20" Dobsonian telescope that you can peer into and see planets and nebulas. If we reach our goal, we will have 2 domes, designed by Gregg Fleishman who designed last year's temple, a telescope, an open air planetarium for cuddle puddles and lectures, and more.

If you love this idea please donate to the Kickstarter by July 17th and if you already have or can't please share share SHARE :-)

Woohoo! The BRO kickstarter is funded - congratulations!

That solar telescope stretch goal is looking very attainable as well, double woohoo!
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

Your rewards are the most amusingly written Kickstarter rewards ever. This is pure poetry!

Black Rock Observatory Frickin' Laser! A laser engraved laser with the Black Rock Observatory logo laser-engraved right on the laser. Laser. 100+ mW of handheld laser beam reaching many miles away. Use to point out constellations or be the jerk at the Man burn. Explain to people laser is really an acronym. Alienate people at parties!
