Today went shopping for random stuff I need more of. This included: ziploc bags, sunscreen, ratchet straps, rebar, good quality leave-in conditioner, more baby wipes. It's getting so close!!! :D :D :D

Sewed 10 feet of velcro into the liner of my coat to attach lights to. Have another 10 feet to go and I may need to re-up.

So, how's that going for you?
I've been practicing drinking warm white wine since around 1pm... a friend came over with fresh nectarines, and when I asked her what she'd like to drink, it was wine. She came to visit and trim my hair. She left a few hours ago, but I've been sewing, and it just seems like wine goes with that, too! *hic*

so, if my playa clothes look funny, or my hair is wonky, well, now you know why.

Works out fine for me - my clothes always look funny and my hair is always wonky.

I've been sorting clothes for A WEEK! Just once I'd like to come in the door and sit on the couch. I'm slowly moving on to other stuff. I'll pack the car as I go just to clear space in the front room. Yeeeeeeeeeek.

Not sure I'll get to finish all 200 of these little copper pendants, but slowly/surely, making progress. The satin rope should arrive Monday, and by then, maybe the holes will be drilled... They're an inch wide, for perspective, and weigh 11 grams (before the drilling).

I'm currently at a conference - how rude, how dare they schedule it right during prime prep time! This means that I haven't gotten much of anything done this week, But I did manage to finalize details for the 1 camp meal I'm cooking with my fellow cooks.

After a camping trip in the woods this weekend I can reclaim a few items for my Burning Man gear (hammer and water kettle)

We recently received the news that two of our good friends from California just got tickets, which was very exciting. Every time we go, they don't go. Last year we didn't go, and they went. But this year, for the first time, we are all together and our little camp-that-isn't-a-camp has grown to 6 whole people.

Finished rebuilding, lighting and decorating the bikes for everyone. Whew. (Neighbor asked me if I was running a bike shop in my garage.)
All our clothing is together and mostly packed.
Artwork for the trailer is done.
Volunteer shifts figured out.
Double and triple checked that the tickets are still in the envelope in our closet and didn't spontaneously get sucked into a black hole. (Which could happen.)
Productivity at work is beginning to decline, right on schedule.
I'm a fixer. I fix things.

Replaced the fuel pump in my truck last night. That wasn't on the list but popped up yesterday as a fairly high priority item. Don't these things have any idea how busy I am?

I hate it when something crops up that isn't on the list, because then I don't have the glee of crossing it off.

Goddamn it, that's HALF THE FUN OF THE LIST.

Sometimes I write things down on my list that I've already done just so I can cross them off.

I can't bear to write down things I have already done . . . but I'll admit to writing down something I know damn well I'll do that day anyway.

I usually break it out into sub-items so I get the vindication of crossing SOMETHING off.

[Edit] but then my task lists are kept in massive spreadsheets and Microsoft OneNote backed up to the cloud so I can access them on my phone/work/home PC... this may be somewhat more OCD than your average burner.

-1 One item for BMan 2014 a day.

Accidentally locked the cat up in the garage last night. I'm sure he tried his best, but ended up peeing in the container that looked most like his cat box; this container held, among other things, multiple pairs of gloves and my canvas bicycle tool bag. The gloves and tool bag are goners I think. The rest of the items like wire and hand tools are being washed. I didn't have time for this today. :|

Stuff that arrived today - tuna in bags, electrolyte tablets (without all the sugar of a sports drink), glow sticks (I always bring a few glow sticks just in case my other lights fail
/ I run into a dark wad / I need extra for something), some toiletries, and a sparkly pink light up fedora.

Took down the carport, storing the poles in a duffle bag, parts in a backpack. Rolled up the bedding. Charged up the chair and the golf cart. Took my puppy to the vet for Parvo shot and second set of shots. 5 mile round trip on the cart. Picked more tomatoes. Found shower bags and painter's tape, stuff is in piles all over the house. Having lucid dreams, not sleeping well. All monthly bills paid. Dr. appointment next Monday, medication refill. Juice boxes, grape juice and Kool-aid in box. Lipton black tea, sugar in bottle. Tuna cans. crackers. More to doooooooooo. :o

How thick?
If it's a coin thickness or less a two-hole punch (Eric, is there a better name?) might work.

If you're near a place with metalworking/jewelry supplies they aren't pricey. You might have to wait until monday, but I think these guys are kinda fun. And they look like helicopters.

Thanks for the tip, Fishy. Thinking of setting up a jig for my drill press that'll drill several at a time, since there are so many. This punch thingy looks like carpal tunnel to me, with that many turns. It looks like a contraption I might get, anyway, you know, just in case I need it for something else. I'm a tool freak from Way Back!

Thanks for the comments about the pendants, tatonka, sadie, msj2u and Martiansky! Now, I'm totally inspired to get them finished! ....Along with all the other little projects that keep popping up as I pack bins and vacuum the car and clean Saguaro Man dust and plant material from all my camping gear. (It was very windy the whole 5 days there)

Down to counting the days! How exciting!!! I miss all you wonderful people...
(and the dust)

edit to add: the pendants are just a tiny fraction under 1/16" thick

Today: Went to Home Depot to pick up rebar and parts for a bike basket...and some unplanned for costuming at the thrift store.

I've been working on my procrastination but had a rare lapse the last few days:

Opened and checked my cot, gave it a once over with lime juice

Set up my tent, gave it a once over with lime juice while enjoying the residual dust and fixed a dodgy zipper with some bar soap and brute force.

Set up the frame of the MH, didn't put tarps on because my stakes appear to be MIA. Actually I think I"m missing an entire bin - tomorrow (or the day after) is another day.

MacGyvered the shipping crates for the lions which will become the bases for a table with some scrap plywood I will wing nut on .thereby eliminating the need to bring the folding table (conserving valuable car space). The holes for the bolts will double as air holes.

Setup the hand me down laptop so I could install the GPS updating software as a prerequisite to finding the load point for the NYC container.

Opened the GPS I was given for Father's Day.

Opened the iPod I was given for Father's Day now that I have a laptop that will run shitty iTunes without un-resolvable errors

Loaded the crates onto the NYC container, a volunteer asked what was in the crates, I told him lions, he asked what will they eat on the trip and I told him they were fasting prepping for the hippie feast on playa. Coincidentally the rail car is named "Tigger", I have some concerns they will hook up with a ursine friend on the trip (oh my).

Found some awesome solar birds I'm going to use with the bird bath/fountain that will be bookended by Fortitude and Patience.

Printed out the ticket for the concert I'm going to attend on the drive home and put it with the BM ticket.

Added a sleeping bag to the mental shopping list in case it doesn't show up in the AWOL bin.
