Cheap Thrills to close!

Postby Dr. Pyro » Tue Feb 08, 2011 9:21 am

This is indeed a sad day. The only outlet in Sacramento that sold Burning Man tickets at face value right up until the day the gates open, Cheap Thrills, is closing. CT was due to close on February 1st, but that has been extended by a few weeks. If you are looking for that simply mahv-elous wig, dress, burner accessory, go to the shop on 21st and L. Everything is discounted. But now where burners used to gather will be just another footnote in history. Today, Empire; tomorrow, Cheap Thrills. RIP.

The Sacramento Bee article, which can be found on Google if you put in Cheap Thrills Sacramento, seems to indicate it could be as early as 6 p.m. tonight. I'm going down there right now to pay my respects.

I so agree. Sad day indeed. Channel 3 news said Friday is the last day. Trying to find time to make it there by then. Have bought my last 5 tickets there. This past year one of the virgin burners in my camp gave to me a $50 gift certificate from CT as a thanks for introducing him to Burning Man. Can hardly wait to spend it this week.

Lets hope The Melting Pot in Reno doesn't reach that fate.
That's where I usually get my ticket....at the top rate.
