Hey there Caught.

Welcome to ePlaya! (I miss Brooklyn and NYC badly, why, oh why did I ever leave!?)

Don't forget to enable your BBCode so quotes, smileys and shit show up :)

Make sure bbcode and smilies are enabled on your profile.
Everything should work in preview.

Remember kids, Jesus was a Jewish zombie killed by Romans. Well, the first time.

(I thought of that randomly today and thought this was a good a place as any to post it.)

I am looking forward to coming to The Playa this next year in 2011... I am hoping to network with other Jewish burners who want to have a Kosher camp. I would love to join a theme camp or village that is Kosher minded

Is there a list of Kosher theme camps? I'm not kosher but I don't mind it. I was just thinking of how much of a pain in the ass it would be if some of my friends decided to come next year who are kosher. If you guys wouldn't mind another couple guys there maybe I can pass them off to you. This way I can continue to be friends with them (friends have been known to become bitter enemies after spending 8 days together on the playa).

My camp recipes are pretty much all kosher anyway, or easily can be and I can always just take my camp kitchen stuff to a mikvah before we leave if not.

I personally would love to stop by and give you guys a hand setting up your camp but don't think I would stay. Depending on your personal interpretation of the Torah saying shtuping is a mitzvah (note it does NOT specify it has to be with your wife). Had a great time with that discussion in Yeshiva before getting kicked out of class and going to the principles office.

I wouldn't want an issue to arrise  if I came back to camp with a shiksa.

TIP: If you have a large Sukkah with a steel or sturdy foundation that might work well at BM if you cover it with a silver or aluminite tarp.

Welcome. I'd say, form your own Theme Camp if it's that much of a concern for you. The Dude is Jewish but reformed but no, we don't keep kosher so alas, I have no "tips" for you.

Good luck-

I'm giving this thread a nudge over to Q&A, since I think it would be a better fit. If you're specifically looking to join (or start) a kosher theme camp in 2012, you may also want to start that discussion in the 2012 Theme Camps board.

Depends on where you fall on the gender issues Eddie ;-)

I finally made it to the Playa this year and while I had no confirmation from anyone on Kosher (Sukkat Shalom was vegitarian this year) it was easy enough to bring my own food, sharing was simple too, though still today I'm craving PPJ and Grill Cheese sandwiches. Which I thought I had enough of while there. I guess I just miss 'home'.

Most amazing (and kosher) thing found on the playa, SNOCONES! And yes I did ask to see the syprup bottle.
