Building a scale model of the man.

Postby CAPSLOCK » Sat Apr 24, 2004 8:23 am

I'm thinking of building a scale model of the man, do any of you know where I can find drafts blueprints from which the figure is built.
You see, I want it to be perfect.

You can't have the plans, the architect who designed the original Man specified that it be so.

You can work from the numerous pictures of the construction, but not get your mitts on the specifications.

I know where are the plans of Man
But you can't have them, Sam-I-Am
We keep them in a box with socks
Booby-trapped with blast cap locks
US/EU copyrighted
No descriptions & accounts be cited
So ask not for the plans of Man
You'll be indicted, Sam-I-Am.

It's not that hard to build it from pictures, that I'll do.

You know, having your own scale model Man at home would be pretty damn cool. Some ELwire would be perfect for the lighting.
Damn, I might have a new project...

When I saw the subject line, my thought was of a scale model of The Man! Maybe a giant thumb squashing a man shaped figure...!

You know,

I've been looking for a dxf,dwg,3ds of the man but it looks like from what I've read I'm gonna have to make it myself. I just want it for my avatar and to make an animation plus I'm just to lazy to make it myself.

This year is going to be my first burn and I just can't wait to be there.
I live in Norway and here no one has heard about Burning Man.
I want to build a scale model of the "The Man" to have in my sound studio to use for inspiration when I'm making music. Maby 2-3 feet tall.

Anybody got a match?

It looks like you can construct a pretty good likeness from the pix found here>>>>>>http://images.burningman.com/index.cgi?q_keyword=&q_year=&q_category=man&q_photog=&go.x=10&go.y=15

Try backing up one directory level?

BTW, Big Daddy built the O-scale model of the Man & temple; I only built the foot.

A few more of my pics, which may be more suitable for those prone to free-webserver snarkiness:

Exactly. It's similar, but different (the 'man' on my icon is from almost 2 years ago). As a mater of fact, every one I do is different. My goal is to emulate without copying. Using the Black Rock effigy as inspiration rather than as a model.
