Maybe this is exactly what they wanted?

I haven't heard this discussion yet, but it popped into my head early this morning.

Maybe this is exactly what The Hat, and the rest wanted to happen. Remember its Cacophony roots? Maybe they thought their party in the desert was becoming to predictable, with the same camps, artists, MV's, etc in the same places and with long timers expecting the same things year after year.

Maybe, just maybe this is the shake up they were trying to achieve.
Things have to change (and this is coming from somebody who absolutely hates change) I mean can you imagine the uproar that would've happened if they said "hey we're moving the event to a location X miles away." Well, remember THEY DID! and now that we've all become comfortable with where it is, it is expected. And maybe to the Heads, it's boring and they want to change their party up again.

My girlfriend brought me back to earth when I was blah, blah, blahing about how this year is going to blow without the mega camps, and the art isn't going to be huge, or that 7/8th of our camp won't be there, etc..and she reminded me, "no expectations"

ah crap, did I just start a topic that is going to de-rail into the whole political B.O. change discussion? Damn it. Should've thought this one through a little better.

I don't like nickles. They're ugly and worthless, and have that creepy smashed face on the new ones.

When they did the buffalo designs I rather liked that. What scares me is the new tin pennies with the weird pseudo-1800's shield design on the back. Ewwww.....

And I won't mention the 5 kopek coin in Russia... at 4 cents to the 100 Kopek ruble,

Takes 5 of these to make one of those tin pennys I mentioned above. And yes, they are sized appropriately.

Nowadays a paradigm experience is only worth about two cents.
We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.
