Our camp owns a generator that mysteriously stopped working at last year's burn and has since been stored at a house in SF waiting for some love and attention.
BUT at the moment, our camp doesn't have anyone based in SF to look after the gennie......(the gennie owners moved back to Australia this year, exactly where I"m writing this post from!)
SO, I'm proposing... that if someone is good at fixing these kinds of things, and is willing to do help PLUS transport the gennie to playa, our camp will share power with your camp (charge batteries, whatevs), we'll invite you round for our famous camp dinners and you can eat at our Farmer's Market stall on the playa ALL DAY EVERY DAY and we'll bring our pedal powered smoothie maker to your place one afternoon and basically do anything within our power (haha scuse the pun) to repay the favour.
As mentioned, we're called More Carrot and we run a Farmer's Market on the playa. We're planning to build a swamp cooler and cool our big yurt, which will behave as a sort of cool room for our fruit and veg. We have some solar panels, and batteries but would be a huge relief to get our gennie working again--we really are strapped for cash and we can't afford to buy a new one.
I know there are some technical wizards among us, let's hope this plea doesn't go unheard!
