wrt: lighting. Last year I found a solar powered led string at Harbor Freight for about 15 bucks. It was about 10+ feet long and has been sitting all year out on my porch. Still works. Green.

Hiya ladies and gents! It's nice to be missed ;) I'm up to my neck in projects but I think I'll make it through to the Big 2012 Burn!! My godson, The Kid and his buddies might be driving me and my rig out to the burn ('cause I am such a shitty long distance driver) then they'll car pool it back home (after they find trouble in gerlach or dawg who knows where, maybe that art car ranch up the way). If I drive it alone then, whoa! one tired moon will be floating in on a cloud of fumes and dust, but I'll get there!
mal-mart Fernely staging area plan is still in the works of course...ya just never know where you'll end up these days.

Is BDCamp/Village still seeking a big giant barbie? I can keep my eyes peeled at the numerous Tahoe yard sales...I'm hopeful there's a lonely big giant Barbie doll just waiting to be 'adopted" or is that 'adapted" both I'm thinking...
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!

Heya hiya Moon Man!

We bought some solar lights at the dollar store and put them on my garden fence as rebar caps. Dang things stayed lit until dawn. Wonderfully tacky stars and stripes, we may bring them out with us.
Some sunshine, some dust, a little paint and a tutu. Yeah.

Moonrise, yes, we are in need of at least one My Size Barbie, and hopefully several. One got trashed last year while skydiving and I believe Mel needs one as well. Thanks everyone for keeping us in mind.

I've been looking, but our yard sales are sad and full of used car seats and mismatched gladware.

I've been watching for them too, but garage sales here have been pretty pitiful lately - mostly stuff you'd have trouble even giving away on freecycle.

I can look for one over this side of the pond if you like Doc...

Any we can send it over, or we can pack one in an extra case - US Airways allow an extra case for $50.. so we were thinking of getting an extra case booked in on our flight so we can get the mead, gifts and a blow up barbie. Happy to help where we can Doc...

BDVtm is a culture leader! Everywhere inspired followers are popping up -

I love this quote:
"I would offer up some commentary on how this isn't born from the old hat idea of "ooh isn't it funny making B*rbie ugly" but more a plea to all those costume makers who think women's only worth is looking hot at all times.

A woman can never be scary, or terrifying, or even truly ugly even if that is the homage she wishes to make. She must at all times be in a state of giving men boners.

So...Cthulhu Barbie. If she disturbs you, I've done my job."

I haven't exactly made it "official", but we are already accepting space requests. (email me if you have a request) You can request as much space as you think you'll need (for example an RV might have 15' X 40' whereas several tents may have 20' X 25'), if you want to be next to or near somebody we will try to accommodate, seniority/theme camps (such as Dye With Dignity, AntiM's HFWA, BDC&WB) get priority street frontage, etc. Tracy will start putting the map together probably mid-July but as of now feel free to request. Keep in mind until the BMOrg actually gives us our space and dimensions, nothing can be guaranteed. But assuming that we get what we had last year, and that is what we are basing your requests upon, we should be able to give you what you need.

I will email you the design in just a second. (Have to look up your addy!) And yes, shirts come in women's cut upon request. If anybody else would like a BDC&WB tee shirt (Drawingablank won the design competition) go to our website and click on the Order Your Gear tab and your shirt will be delivered on the playa.

Go, DAB!!! 8)

Can I see the shirt design too, Doc?

The women's tank last year was kind of a Land's End cut, if you know what I mean; very conservative.

Is it OK to support BDC via buying a shirt if you aren't a member and know the secret handshake? :?

For those interested this is the basic design, however note that there will be some changes to the text layout. The 2012 will be moved to the bottom and will say Burning Man 2012.
