tyvek geodesic dome cover

Postby bsilver18 » Mon Aug 09, 2010 6:10 pm

Hi all,
I've been trying to figure out the best way to cover our 25', 5/8 3V geodesic dome. We read a bit about making a custom fitting cover out of tyvek and I'm wondering if anyone has any personal experience using tyvek on the playa? It looks reasonably priced and strong, but will it hold tough through the week? If anyone has some other suggestions for a fairly easy dome covering, I'd love to know. Cheers!

Works well. Very strong and hard to rip. Waterproof.

We had them in 2002 on three domes.

Only problem is they are ovens if you enclose the whole dome and have no roof vent.

Tyvec got hot because it's not opaque, right?

Transmission, radiation, convection ... Who knows.

We just rolled up the sides.
