San Diego Decom Lost to Fire

Postby Mark Hinkley » Sun Oct 26, 2003 1:20 pm

The following was issued this morning:

"Please forward to all pertinent lists.

Due to the devastating fires that have roared through the east parts of San Diego County, the property where Decompression was to be located has burned. A dear friend's home and property have been destroyed. We, as a community will pull together to help out our brother in a time of need, but for now, San Diego Decompression will be indefinitely postponed.

Thank you

Jones

Several of our friends have already lost their homes and we hold thin hope for news from several more. Our friend's property that was going to host the decom had been warehousing art materials, structures and supplies for the decom. His home and all he owned, the famous Satreheeden art car, much of Shangri La Village, and so much more that was sweet and beautiful - are lost.

Sucks to hear the news Mark.

We had two women from our group of Rangers return to Landers, CA after the burn only to find their property had been washed out due to flash floods. Our group mobilized a substantial work party to do what could be done to help them out.

From all reports it was an outstanding success. Hope the SD community can muster such an effort afte the embers die down. in the mean time know that you folks are in our hearts.
