just got this today, thought I'd share

Hello,

It is now officially on!

Sunday October 19th is the Los Angeles Burning Man Decompression Street
Faire! It will be on Santa Fe Street under the First Street Bridge and
in front of The Blue Bongo Cafe and around the block in downtown Los
Angeles.

Some of you have already expressed an interest in participating. Please
be patient. We will be sending responses this week. If you want to
participate and haven't e-mailed us yet, e-mail:

athena@athenademos.tv

We need Theme Camps, ART, Performers, Stilters, Street Performers,
Stage
Acts, Greeters, Rangers, helpers of all kinds, you name it.

Please Include:

Name of theme camp
Nature of camp
Does it involve sound? If so, describe
Do you need power? If so, how much?
If serving food or beverages, let us know. You need to get a health
permit on your own to do so.

THEME CAMPS: We must hear from interested theme camps and art by
October 3rd. We are going to be a bit limited on the number of sound
systems we can have on the street and will have to know in advance who
wants to do what and decide how to be fair.

If you want to do a performance on one of the stages, e-mail
wolfie@caprica.com with a description and your tech needs.

See you there!!!

Food and Drinks

Postby Jackie » Wed Oct 15, 2003 2:12 pm

Bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. No glass. From what I understand...The Blue Bongo will have food and drinks for sale. People who were interested in passing out food/beverages to the masses had to arrange for a license from the city.

Posting information like this, say on the website or in anyone one of the email announcements could quite possibly maybe be a little bit helpful.

Just a teeny bit.

Very much enjoyed meeting Stuart, Ari and Ivy! Nice to see Alexiis again, too -- your performance was on fire!

I only managed to get a few pix [link], but Ivy I think I have a new butt avatar for you. :-)

I had a great time last night. It really brought me back to my happy place. I gotta say that mutaytor blew me away, again! I was dancing on the friggin stage at the end, totally great.
Didn't meet any e-playans, but had some short, fun friendships. Shared a laugh, shared a hit, then shared a "Have a great time".
My dreams last night were unbelievable!!!

I was there from about 4:00 to 6:30. I managed to take quite a few pictures, but it will take a few days to sort them out and get them online. As soon as I do, I'll be sure to post a link.

Ivy, it was nice to meet you. Sorry I couldn't stay around long enough to see you dance. I had to go home and take care of the family. Maybe next time.

well, as always, ditch the expectations, open your mind, have a great time. I am so Glad I was able to put faces to the names of Ivy and Alpha. It was really nice to see you both for the first time. And Ari, some of those ideas are really very exciting to me. Thanks for sharing your fine cocktail.

Thanks to all to who worked hard to make it happen. I'm still smiling

I had a fabulous time yesterday with all the people I ran into. SOrry that the lil meet 'n' greet turned out to be a bust...apparently SRC wasn't there, and although there was some space across from the front door of the BB, there was a stage right there and though there were lots of people, none of us could recognize each other...oh, well. I did manage to meet up with some people and that was very cool. Next time!
