Zonotopia

Zonotopia

Postby alt12 » Tue Jun 28, 2011 1:27 pm

We have an ambitious deadline of July 30th to raise $8,000 to make this art project happen. Some of you probably experienced the Zome from last year which was a 26 foot high tear-drop design zonahedron dome located right behind the temple.

The design this year is an evolution of the previous year's Zomes. It is a much large tower design this year that will be climable, and is always no nails or bolts or screws. Its all fitted-joint construction. Please support us by going to: http://www.indiegogo.com/Zonotopia and checking out the video and making a donation of anything you can afford... We have brought these structures to Day of the Dead in San Francisco, to Lightning in a Bottle, and to Burning Man but this would be a significantly more beautiful, more challenging and more complex spiral zonahedron design.

This is what we built last year:

I saw your dome at Lightning in a Bottle, and was really impressed with it. :)

Rob Bell here.

Thanks mudpuppy. LIB was an awesome experience and I hope to bring the Zomes back there next year.

We have some cool rewards with our donations on our indiegogo site and I'll be posting updates in the next few days as production prototyping and design lock-down gets underway.

But for now, alittle Zomku from the Book of Zomes

Thanks to all who came out to Dolores Park in SF on Saturday to support the Zonotopia. We had the baby Zome set-up on the lawn next to the tennis courts and were able to create a temporary community space in the park. Met a lot of fun and interesting people.

The Zonotopia crew will be out at Prepare for the playa this Sunday with a 1/8" scale model of the project.
Come check it out and help us manifest the real size by making a donation to our indiegogo page.
