I visited your website, I had to kill my browser and restart it in order to get all of it to load.

It looks like it was put together at about 05:00 by someone who didn't sleep.

Don't knock it until ya try it!
"Drab" is arbitrary postmodernism, Art without meaning,
which is EXACTLY what we are against!

1776 is a visceral, genuine, American context;
the culture that generations of American families have
really lived in. Our spirit is real, tangible, grassroots.

It's also an excuse to coordinate costumes together.
Try it for a night or two. :)
Or, if you want to switch up your own look...

We'll costume you on location.

Actually, costume coordination is one of the best things on the playa!

Remember tutu day? Boa day?

Well, now you have a chance to interact daily on that level AND do it
with a group, many of whom are people seeking real meaning, NOT
as a arbitrary dadaist exhibition. Let's express more meaning, and less
narcissism.

Remember, 1776 stands for something different to everyone!

Too bad Paul Revere's ride to warn the British was back in 1775.

Not to be the killer of joy, but I believe he meant drab, as in olive.

But thanks to him we still have our guns, and showing off your guns is what this camp is all about.

Why waste your time with historical accuracy when you can have more fun oogling your perfered gender(s) in sexy historical costumes for playa play.

If that is what you want then this camp has what you want when you want it and that is 100% of the time you are in BRC.

If you're fixin to wear just period underwear, it's going to be unbearably hot in 1776 garb. This is a brutal desert. Oh, jeebuss - they wore wool underwear. Cripes!

Good luck.

I don't know, the last two years I was out during the day in my Count Vermin getup, I wasn't too uncomfortable in my linens and wools.

It was reenactment quality clothing, period fabrics, period colours. The only change was the footwear. I only wore my red-heeled shoes for fancy occasions.

Hi all,

I'm with Retrofrolic and was just checking out your camp; glad to see you are near us so I can check you out. I'm a history buff, but have not done any costuming mostly because I don't sew, and my sister who does live across the country. Will plan on stopping by to check yours out...
