When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

melaniejane, welcome!

This is my first burn too. 8) Doc Pyro's fantastic, isn't he?

Kudos to you for coming such a long way and, I like your name, it looks charming to me, and it is perfectly pronounceable. Which will make meeting up at BDC so much easier...

NOt to worry. BDC&WB is always somewhat moribund.

I have laid in a large stash of Vegemite to bring to BM - perhaps the cow would like to eat that as well. Red wine and Vegemite marinade might be quite good

This sounds perfectly delish, esp. if the cow expires tenderly cradled in the passionate embrace of Ygmir.

I heard about your raw prawns, too, so put them shrimps back on the heat please, before Ygmir pushes his "chicken" in here...

So all you strong men of the BDC&WB....who can I beg to use their pure brute strength to put my new camp stretcher bed together when we get to TTITD? It only appears possible to put together with the help of more muscles than I possess.

I have sworn and yelled so much in the last hour that I reckon the cops are going to roll up soon as I have seriously disturbed the peace in my ‘hood!

But hey better to find out that I bought a possibly dud bed now than when I make it over the ocean.

*sigh*

Oh if it goes together (or even if it doesn't) we'll make it work. I'm kind of a lazy guy, but I can think of at least 10-15 camp members I could convince to do it for you.

Of course if we have trouble You could always ask Doc if he has any space in the back of his RV...

Welcome MelanieJane, Hubby ( a Figment) and I are Baribarians this year too :)

I remember camping with the wooden army cots, And quite colorfully and vividly remember pinching my fingers getting the damn things together
 . I imagine the inventer chuckling somewhere. But I digress, Like blue and Yggy said there will be ample muscle around to assemble your troublesome cot :)

I have an undeployed airbag that I've been saving for a festive occasion.
Anyone have any interest in a Barbie space program? It has room for two barbanauts, perhaps three if they're taped together.

Sure there are helping hands in BDC :)

I remember last year clearly! We started to set up the shade structure and when the roof cloth was on the construction (still on the ground), we found some holes in it, so I had to duct tape it and I remember these strong helping hands to hold me (actually hold my trousers) so I dont fell on the construction...the best "innocent" way how to get into someone's trousers in 5 minutes
