Movie Camps

Postby Fire_Moose » Wed Jul 23, 2008 12:21 pm

I heard there are some camps that show movies throughout the burn. I was wondering if outsiders of the camp can bring movies to share? And where you guys at?

Movies

I got a zoom box that I'm carrying on the back of my trike. If you see me on the playa I might be persuaded to play your dvd if it's better than mine..

Tiki Fuckos will likely show movies after nightfall some nights. We have no schedule, but when no one is playing music and we want to play some movies, we'll set up the projector and let some go. If you have your movies on you and people feel like watching them, someone might play them for you. We're at A and 9:00 on the corner this year. There are more dedicated movie camps out there.

Are these movies you made? Last year the type of movies we played were "The Big Labowski" and "Super Troopers"

If you play Lebowski I will totally bring the White Russians.

You're out of your element, Donny.

We have the resemblance of Apple Jax, Golden Grahams, Fruit Loops, & Frosted Flakes thus far. We also have Total Raisin Bran and Special K for the colon challenged. Still looking for a good deal on Coco Puffs and Lucky Charms. Please, please please bring your own bowl and spoon if possible. We will also gladly accept gifts of soy or rice milk.

Bad Idea Theater

Postby Harpman » Fri Jul 25, 2008 9:58 am

Look for the "Bad Idea Theater" in your 2008 theme camp guide. This is one of my favorites. They are typically located at 3 or 6:00 camp. They show cheesy old 50s Sci-Fi movies. You know, the kind that are so bad, they are funny.
When you walk it there is a bar that serves up some tasty inebriating concoctions. then into the dark and relax with one of these campy films.
Always a favorite.

Aw, thanks! We've been at 3:00 in the past and we hope again for this year. We'll post on the web site when we get the dope on placement.

If you literally mean while the man is burning, yes Bad Idea Theater will be showing movies during the burn. (Usually we depart from our regular format during the burn.)

If you mean throughout the festival, we are usually doing movies & bar 7 nights, Sunday-Saturday.

But, sorry no; we don't take on new material during burning man. But we will consider suggestions for next year's batch. Mostly because, as is explained in our FAQ, "...we're selfish bastards".

But, ya know... do drop in anyway! If you consume the proper amount of beverage, you'll think we're playing your movies. :D
