How long before Elvis visits the BDC&WB?

"Elvis and Priscilla Barbies: A must have for fans"
Aug. 12, 2008, 6:45 PM EST
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The marriage didn't last all that long, but for the Elvis Presley faithful, the wedding day is special still. And now, Elvis fans have the official, Graceland-approved Elvis and Priscilla wedding dolls to remind them of that magical time.

"This is just another way he's making history, and we want to be part of it," said Angel Durham, who waited all night outside a Graceland souvenir shop to be the first to hand over $65 for a boxed set of the dolls, the newest additions to Mattel's Barbie series.

No, that's just a ficticious name to throw everyone off. The actual name is "My Buddy" Camp.

My Buddy
My Buddy
Where ever he goes
I go
My Buddy
My Buddy
Where ever he grows
I go

My Buddy and me
Like to slide up a tree
and sing like a couple of
Cheese heads...

My Buddy
My Buddy
Squishin Barbies is boring
My Buddy...
...

Even though we weren't camped that far away, we didn't make it over to say "hi" and have a glass of wine this year.

Do y'all make it to any decomps inthe Fall?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It was a lot of fun this year again and should be next year as well.

I don't tend to make the Decomps (I did once and it was just too much of a hassle) but many of our campmates/villagemates do. Just look for all of the winos.

We're in Elk Grove. That's not so far away from Newcastle..

Do you make it to any of the Foothill Burner socials?

Actually I moved from Elk Grove to Newcastle in 1999. Lived about four blocks east of EG Park in old EG. One of our villagemates still lives there: LoveMonkey. Personally I don't do many off-playa functions; I do, after all, have the semblence of a life. But we're always anxious to meet burners from the area. Hope to see you next year.

Dragon used to live near Elk Grove Park.

Marty lived nearby, a couple of years ago, too.

I've met Love Monkey before at the Sacramento Santacon pub crawl.

Did Graham Norton get the idea for using all the barbies on the intro to his show from visiting your camp?

I doubt it, but we certainly could have given him some pointers. And we will be back in 2009 as Barbie Death Village. Coming soon, to a playa near you.

Considering the camp name, I think the pole should be ran through the mannequin

There's a theory that the romanians figured out how to impale all the way through the body without killing.
Just major discomfort.

I always figured they just started so you couldn't get loose and left you.
More drama emotionally with living victims is the idea.

it did..he impaled his own people, by the thousands.
lined the road.
the army was horrified that he'd do that to his own, and, being mercenaries, wondered what he'd do to them.........

yes, they could impale so a person lingered a long time, but, it did kill them..........

IIRC, that is.........

You forgot the right away. It would take some pretty sophisticated medical tech to save someone afterwards. I doubt there were any actual survivors.
Crusifiction was pretty nasty too, took several days to die.
