Q: Anyone know the deadline for the WhatWhereWhen guide?

Q: Anyone know the deadline for the WhatWhereWhen guide?

Postby Schmactor » Sat Jun 21, 2008 10:00 am

I want to submit an event for the WhatWhereWhen guide. I believe I just have to get it into the online Playa Calendar on the BM website but can anyone confirm exactly what I have to do and what the deadlines are?

Thanx!

Plan for late July.

Or mid-july.

Shit, we're getting close! I haven't done much of anything.

Hopefully it will actually, you know, be useful this year. Whatever happened last year was a mess and was not very useful.

The guide will include two things about ducks.
Both will be wrong.

Sort of funny watching people try to find things from it.

The sooner the better... if it's bust as a guide-- who cares. If they get it right, your golden. Do it now.

The folks doing it this year are completely aware of last years problems. Should be much better this year.

Thinking about putting an event in the whatwherewhen guide this year? Better hop to it! Read below.

Greetings!

This year, we're doing things a little differently for the What Where
When (printed) guide for the playa. In past years, we've had a
deadline, and in the rush of pre-playa, many of you have missed it
and then asked to have your event added post-deadline. This year,
we're capping the number of entries, so it will be virtually
impossible to make exceptions for you latecomers. We're currently
looking at about 1300 of 1440 available entries already taken, so if
you REALLY want something printed in the What Where When, NOW is the
time.

NOW

Not tomorrow, not Friday. We get hundreds of entries per day at this
time of year.

Quick, like Bunny!

 I received this email, thought I would pass it on to the procrastinators even though we do not have placements yet.

Yea, I'm pretty sure you are too late for the printed copy (7/20 Deadline). You should be able to still post it online, though.

Last year the www guide in our camp was used to sop up spilled beer on the second day.

How will the creators of the guide know the Where if placement hasn't been assigned? Are they taking on the responsibility of looking up and aligning the Where with the What/When? These are volunteers, right? Best of luck to ya!! Sounds like a huge, complex job.

From a previous placement announcement...

WHAT?, WHERE?, WHEN? -- NOW!!! The on-line Playa Events Calendar is filling up with all your parties, events, gatherings and happenings . http://www.burningman.com/calendar/ Deadline for inclusion in the WHAT WHERE WHEN Guide -- the printed hardcopy filled from Playa Events online Calendar, and handed out to everyone when they arrive -- is . . . July 20th OR 1400 entries, which ever comes first! That entry count limit is new this year, so get your events in! Remember, we will add your playa address for you before it goes to press.
