Tent Stakes (spiral ?)

I didn't use any stakes this year for my tent. Fortunately the gear I had was enough to weigh it down.

I used 12" nails for most everything this year and it worked great. They're $.50 each at Home Depot ($1 at Lowes for some reason) and have a rust-resistant coating. They go in and out easy with a regular hammer. They're much lighter and easier to haul out than rebar, even if you need 3 of them to replace one rebar stake.

I'm no longer a fan of spiral tent stakes. I snapped several this year holding down tarps while under moderate wind loads. On the other hand I had several of the 12 inch nails Dork mentioned and they didn't give me any trouble. So...next year I won't be bringing any spiral tent stakes
