|
|
As a gift for all, I'm arting up a pac man game for the PC. MiniMan will chomp around different playa screens picking up water, beer, sex, moop, etc. My little dancing avatar is an expample of his possible moves. When it's done I'll post a download link here so everybody can play, compare scores here, etc. Sound fun?
Want to contribute? Post some url links and/or permission to use your:
- 32x32 pixel or smaller sprites or short animations. (some avatars might be great for this)
- Midi music
- small, short .wav sounds
- GameMaker6 files
- Ideas
I'll be sure to give you credit on a game that might travel the world for free. _________________ Schlam Ein Hammer: www.MutantVehicle.com/Ein_Hammer.htm

That's so cool. I'm downloading it right now.
Thank you, you rock. What a nice gift!
I'll let you know my high score once I finally get one...be warned though, I'm not too good at pac man. Maybe this is a bit different though.
How fun. _________________ Music is food for the soul |

I'm going crazy with anticipation! That's what's going on! Two and a half months...ahhhh, can I make it?? Yeah, I suppose I'll have to. Gotta by lots of gear still, so that will take plenty of time. Plus I've got a pretty busy summer coming up, the next two months should actually fly by. _________________ Music is food for the soul |

Hey Jellyfish,
I couldn't get the program to work. It says my backbuffer is full. Which it could be I suppose, except my laptop doesn't really have a problem with full on large CD-rom games. |

Hey, Pupperdog. I don't know. I barely built the game so I'm useless for tech support. Try it on a different computer? _________________ Schlam Ein Hammer: www.MutantVehicle.com/Ein_Hammer.htm

| I know a guy who was talking about doing a RL version of pacman in Oakland, which could be converted to playa. Set up a 'map' for the maze, monitor everyone's position w. gps, and hand them all walkie talkies to let the 'ghosts' know if a power pellet has been eaten, etc. (Base the ghosts in center camp?) Picture some guy in a giant yellow pacman costume running around with a casette player on continual loop going 'wakkawakkawakkawakka'... |

I can not get this to execute.
I get a message that I'm missing a DLL file. _________________ "Everything is more wonderful when you do it with a car, don't you think?"

I have windows 98se on here.
Does anyone know if that is the problem?
I'll be putting a mac with os 9 into use soon.
It's a playa gift actually. _________________ "Everything is more wonderful when you do it with a car, don't you think?"

The Windows 98 might be the thing. That's a pretty old OS by tech standards but has its advantages. I'm distracted by other project right now so not really collecting new images, but thanks. Look you up if I get inspired again?
I've got to go and learn visual basic so we can get to programming the monkey for the U-Me project. It will be fun to learn something new and only the monkey will laugh at my mistakes. _________________ Schlam Ein Hammer: www.MutantVehicle.com/Ein_Hammer.htm

I just downloaded it on my windows 98 machine and it works fine. I have the "unofficial service pack" installed on it, which I recommend if you're still running 98 though back-up your files before installing it. It's never given me a problem, but you never know. It fixes a lot of old bugs and fixes the problem of it incorrectly using more ram than 64 megs.
And yeah, if you're looking for new sounds etc I'd be glad to help. It's a cool little game. My g/f just walked in as I was trying it out and laughed her ass off, thinking it was great. I like to make little things like that in my spare time. |

CO, you might be able to use WINE to get it to work on MacOS.

I find that wine makes everything better.

If you got one of them used console games for Pac-Man, how would you re-program it? A kewl thing to bring to da playa, ne? _________________ We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. |

| Depends on how old it is. The real old ones are "coded" with just their logic board. So you could make a new board, or more easily, just install a PC and monitor into it to make it look original. |

Now that is a cool fucking idea. Place it just on the outskirts of your camp and maybe disguise/camouflage the extension cord going back into your camp - that way people would come upon a random arcade game powered mysteriously, not to mention the game is BM specific.
Incidentally, this brings to mind something I wondered about out on the playa this year - a pool table. I read a thread from a couple of years ago from a guy who brought out a table with the felt engaved w/ the Man's logo. Does anyone know if this still makes the trip out there, either in 06 or coming up this year? _________________ You call it malt liquor, I call it breakfast. |
