Bee swarm 2013?

Postby Raven9940 » Tue Feb 19, 2013 9:51 pm

I saw a youtube vid from last years burn where a bunch of burners dressed as bees and flashmob'd the man. Does anyone know who organizes that and if they'll be doing it again this year? I've seen the unicorns attack and the bunnies/carrots fight but the bees are new to me and that seems like the group I'd like to join

Not saying that it couldn't/wouldn't happen, but I'd bet the bees last year had to do with the fertility2.0 theme.

You likely missed your chance. With last year's Fertility 2.0 theme, streets named for pollinating flowers, hivetastic aspects of the man pavilion, the 38 foot flower pistil art installation inside it, and the public call for 'bee here now' in some of the theme statement stuff, last year had a significantly greater number of people dressed as bees than you'd probably normally see. But if you want to try your hand at organizing something, go right ahead. There's certainly nothing stopping you from rocking a bee costume at any time, and you could try posting an event (either in the WWW guide or just as a note at Playa Info) and see who turns up.
