That stupidity could kill your children!!

So many people do not realize that they are essentially invisible until the vehicle is 30-40 feet away. (especially in the apparent conditions of that Gif)

They were crossing the road at what looks like a legit crosswalk. So, technically, they were in the right... (being right and dead is kinda pointless)

I, personally, would never cross a road (in those conditions) unless I knew I could be seen and had enough time to get across before the next vehicle.

The stopping distance looked to be about 40% greater than the reach of the headlights. With incoming traffic and it being what looks like pitch black, spotting anyone on the side or middle of the road - in time to stop is very low. (Studded winter tires might increase the stopping odds. I certainly would not gamble my children on that...)
