Replaced (in the last 8000 miles): The turbo, EGR cooler (twice), turbo vane actuator, FICM, EGR valve, control pressure regulator, alternator, high-pressure oil pump, plus a few other bits. Total: about 8K. My mechanic ADORES me. He cried harder than I did when the death sentence was passed. (Poor lad. He has one kid in college and another one hot oh his heels. He was hoping to use me as his meal-ticket).
So yeah. Nuclear bummer. Next up: Cummins (diesel) or Toyota (gas). Guess we'll see!
