I'm a raver because I love the music. I love to dance. I love the freedom of expression.
This may come as a surprise to some but a lot of what real ravers believe in come very close to the ten principles. (caveat: yes ravers moop like crazy and that part pisses me off) As a matter of fact, the entire concept of PLUR is what helped draw me to raving in the first place...call it corporate zombie culture shock. Inclusion, Gifting, Self-Reliance, Self Expression, Civic Responsibility, Immediacy and Participation these are all things that all of my close raver friends believe in and practice AT RAVES. (obviously, we're not candy kids but even that sub-group has its values). So what a wonderful surprise to find that there is this burner community that has so eloquently espoused those principles and more into its own subculture. What a sadness to find that not everyone in the burner community is as tolerant or accepting as one would hope.
As a burner/raver/fucking human being, I participate, I contribute, I party, I de-moop, I share and all that I ask is not to be labeled until you get to know me.
And for the record, I fucking HATE dubstep.

I mock ravers constantly.
Then I bring them back to my RV for snuggle time. Nothing like a happy little pretty boy to warm up a cold night at the Burn...

Not everyone is a kind, decent, or good person, but I believe that most people have something to offer each of us and shutting down an entire group of individuals based on a stereotype (whether its based on race, subculture, gender, etc.,) is dangerous. Haven't we learned by now the outcome of hate?

Maybe we could combine with Bait Bicycles one night?

The ravers are starting to get wise. We were raver fishing last year, and caught fewer than we used to. We could see them judging as to whether they were being baited or not.

We will have to step it up.
