Welcome! If you want to borrow bicycles on Playa, come to my camp. I should be able to predict my address when we get close to the event, and then I'll put it in my signature.

Why don't we ever get Scandinavian greetings from Patagonia?

We should get the Norwegian influx this year. I don't know how compatible Swedes and Norwegians are...

I get along well with Swedes, but I'm also still waiting for them to give back Hjemtland and Herjedalen *.

Now, now, Ygmir.... Marcus and Sophia are not familiar with The Great Herring War of 2006. We must let them get acclimated gradually.

Again, welcome to ePlaya and the Burning Man community, Søta Bror! :D

Oh, What a warm welcoming we are getting... There will be enough swedes for all of you.. But I cannot promise we can bring back Hjemtland and Herjedalen (Jämtland and Härjedalen) to you Elliot, maybe a postcards though.

And the only Great Herring war I know of is the one between Johansson & Lindtström in " Golden Girls "

And as far of that war I´d say I go with Lindström about that one, Let the Herring have their circus.

Elliot, Thanks for the bicycle offer. Maybe after all theese years Norway and Sweden can team up .. If just for one week in a dusty desert in the middle of nowhere.

Elliot, Tack för din uträckande hand min norska bror.

And for the rest of you, Thanks =) I think this week will be unforgetable.

Elliot marches on the border to reclaim Jemtland and Herjedalen from the dastardly Swedes.

Marcus and Sophia, this business about herrings relates to a group of Norwegians who come to Burning Man every couple of years. They use a herring (the fish) as their symbol and they call their camp Camp Herring. We have had a great deal of fun with make-believe wars using herrings as weapons, and other comical silliness, both here on ePlaya and in the actual Black Rock City. So we expect you to come riding into Black Rock City on a Dalahest or some such.

Welcome, Marcus and Sophia!

Don't forget to check out the recent issue of JackRabbit Speaks, the one with the ticket information. It had information on a group that helps international burners get bicycles. I believe the group is called Rat's Bikes.

Good luck!
It makes sense if you don't think about it.
