using a new coffee maker that I got for Christmas. It's a little glass filter holder that you pour hot water over. My first apartment coffee maker was a replacement glass coffee pot I got at goodwill, and a four cup funnel. Everything old is new again. It's nice. I think I'll scale one up for the bar. Sure was hard to hang that water pot from the ceiling.

It just reminded me so much of an industial furnace that to get creative and make it as multi-functional as possible would be a hoot.

Sort of like useing water 3 ways before it goes to the black water tank.

well AntiM, the stove does seem to put out a lot of heat.......I'd like to think my "fin" idea, and re-burn recirculating internal air system are why........but it might just be, it works good by accident. anyway, I'll lay a futon right next to it for your curling pleasure.

I did try the "cold water on hot metal" straightening method, and it seems to have had some effect!
got the top up to about 500 deg. and poured cold water on the area that was about 3/32 raised (center of 36x42 inch, 3/8 thick plate). I kept pouring slowly until the temp just in that are was down to about 170 deg. the areas around stayed well above 400, as you got away from the cooled area. (all according to my cheap point and shoot infrared thermometer). I did that twice. After, it seemed I cut the bulge by about half. so, it seems it worked, yay that!!

Just as my sleep schedule seems to be circling back around to what passes for normal, I was awaken by a flying cat in the pre-dawn hours. Every now and again our youngest cat (she's four, but still a kitten in my mind) likes to jump from the top of the bookshelf straight down onto the lounger bed. She's never landed with claws in my head, but she gets awfully damned close. Anyhow, I woke with a start (and rush of adrenaline) and couldn't get back to sleep. So I dove right into some video projects. While working on some other renders and transcoding projects, I also scrubbed through 40-50 hours (so far) of documentary footage to clip out some excerpts that will tie into camp projects, then youtube'd them so I can share with campmates and include them in an upcoming site redesign. I also spent a fair bit of time investigating the ePlaya hiccup (notification emails aren't working properly), but I'm waiting to hear back from some folks at HQ at this point. While I was playing techno dork, the girl made a fabric joint run and made a skirt piece for the outfit she'll be wearing at the upcoming Edwardian Ball.

Is it ever too late for cartoons?

love your hof Yggi. i am hoping to have a few good years of earning so i can actually get over there long enough to see some of these great places - that or do it in instalments (Tahoe '11, DC+ roads from there to reno '12) so i guess maybe more west coast in '14 (plans for '13 already ) oh yea and airport in san franscsco to Gardnerville nv in '02 the year i saw pics of BRC for the first time

no booze today not working over xmas has left me to poor still i am friend rich so

My new boss thinks we can squish my schedule around to get 2 weeks off for TTITD even though the new summer vacation rule is "one week at a time" so yeah YAY HOORAY !!!

Maybe someday I will get to see that stove, that Hof, that beautiful view from Ygmir's mountain hideaway, but today I am really happy to see BRC in my future.
