I heard there was going to be a decompression party at Red, White and Blue beach north of Santa Cruz later this month, does anyone know any more about that?

It's not listed at <a href="http://www.burningbeach.com/index.html#events">Burning Beaches</a>, though there's a film festival at the Rio Theatre in SC on October 4.

wouldn't it be good if most or all of these decompressions raised money for the families of the two people who were killed (and maybe for the others injured in the air accidents?) maybe funnelled into a singled fund via Black Rock LLC. . . ?

how we burners respond creatively to these tragedies will show how real is our 'experiment in temporary community' . . .

That's a wonderful idea. If anyone is interested in settinng something like this up, I'd be happy to pitch in. If it fits with the family wishes, perhaps there could be some type of art foundation on their behalf that sponsors future art projects on the Playa.

any hapless victims of law enforcement who are saddled with more than a mere 250 fine would also immensely appreciate some help I'm sure.

I assume there will be numbers soon on all the accidents and the all the arrests and citations issued.

Is there ever a chance of la/so cal having some sort of "unified" (for lack of a better word) decomp a la SF's? That would be sweet.

i'm throwing a dekompression party on sat night. it's a pajama/slumber party - wear your cutest pjs and bring your sleeping bag ( playa dust optional ). we'll be having a white elephant swap - all the crap you bought this year but didn't use, all the crap you were gifted with but don't want, bring said crap to swap with other for crap you want. all leftover crap will be stored for next year when aforementioned crap will be distributed to other burners who need crap.

Most likely between Tampa and Orlando, or just southwest of Orlando (centrally located). There's a rather large tract of land there used for a hanggliding business, and some of the Phlorida Phambly have an in with them. (Hehhehheh...)

Are you on any of the Florida lists? We have people in yer neck of the woods who would love to meet you, I'm sure.
