No, back in my youth when I skied, it was actually too cold around here to do so without requiring hospitalization afterwards, and I figured I wouldn't be able to convince my parents to give me money, permission, or convince them to go to (without so much complaining from my Dad that it would ruin the fun) someplace where I could do so. In adulthood I was never financially stable enough to try it, and am not now either financially or physically healthy enough to try it.

I was supposed to have read the first one in junior high, and only made it partway through before giving up and skimming the rest (which was apparently better than most of the rest of the class), and have never even attempted to read the Crucible. Thus, I really can't answer the question.

The main saving grace of that class was that we were assigned to read To Kill a Mockingbird, which remains one of the best books I have ever read. (I do not recall if that was the same class where we were assigned to read Hound of the Baskervilles, and I figured out who had committed the murder shortly after Holmes arrived at the estate-- and promptly lost too much interest in the book to finish it.)


TPBM prefers the Classic Comics versions of classic novels to the original books.

Uh, I went to Culver's and spent some money I don't really have. Anyway, I had a four piece chicken dinner (dark meat), with french fries and coleslaw (plus the generic roll which comes with the meal), Diet Mountain Dew (tm), and a large hot fudge and caramel shake. Unless you want to count the liverwurst on whole wheat toast I had as a snack (which is probably why I couldn't fall asleep and wound up back on-line.)


TPBM has at least considered crowd-sourcing to fund a theme camp. (And can probably guess what I have been thinking about doing to get back to TTITD.)
