This weekend I finally got my butt back into the gym for the first time post-playa. I've been running and going to dance class, but I really need to be at the gym more often than either of those other options, 'cause there's a broad spectrum of neat equipment and I won't hurt my foot there, as I
will if I overdo it with the running.
At the gym I did a good session on the recumbent bike, and then I checked the upstairs area I don't visit often enough and found a deltoid machine (shoulders!) which I hadn't realized was there. Wonderful! So I did chest press, deltoids, lat machine (pull downs) and that little cage where you stand in it, brace your forearms on some padding, hold onto the . . . handlebars? . . . and then use your abs to lift your legs. My abs were sore Sunday AND Monday.

But it was cool; I'll try it again.
I do the lat machine because I'm hoping it will allow me to keep some definition in my back now that pushups are difficult (because of the wonky foot) but I"m not sure if the lat machine is doing anything for me yet. Lats are lower than the muscles over the scapulas, which is where I would like to have/keep a little bit of definition.
