Fuck! I was once in a job where the trauma and stress were huge (child protective service). Please know that if/when I need help, I hope that person cares about me as much as you do for your patients. That caring is a big part of the gift you give them - I hope that if you see your own emotionality as a gift to them, it may help you sleep better at night. They say that doctors and nurses have to turn off their emotions - I just don't think they are as effective in their jobs when that happens. Thank you for being there and being available to help your patients, in many ways.

And, yes - I think there are all sizes and shapes of Heroes, and you are certainly one of them.

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. My Daughter and I went down to see my kids yesterday, Whom I have not seen since June. I asked about my youngest daughter (who is 15 and has brain damage) and was told that she "had not been up that day". When I went to get her for lunch I was just totally appalled at the condition she was in. She was still locked in her room. She probably had not had a bath in at least a week, if not 2. She was in wet clothes (pee) and needed a diaper change, My daughter and I proceeded to changer her diaper and her clothes. She had open sores where her diaper rubbed and big blisters around her genitals and pubic area. she did not have an ounce of fat on her. Her chest now is perfectly flat and you can very easily count all her ribs. I swear she looks like she came out of a nazi concentration camp. there is feces smeared into the carpet and her air mattress (the only piece of furniture in there). And the room smelled worse than jots. I was so upset that I did not know what to do.

This morning I called DCFS and was told that there was nothing they could do and that I should call the police because they would have to go out first. so I called the fucking police and the sent someone round. He then called me and said that he found nothing wrong and that was what was going in his report. when I asked him about it he allowed that yes the room did smell bad and that there was only an air mattress and a blanket in it. But he could see nothing wrong.

DCFS says that all they can do is refer it up higher. So bottom line is nothing is going to be done. And I am sure that my ex has figured out that I called it in. So I expect that she will retaliate in some way.

Oh BB, I'm so sorry. Try contacting a local social worker personally for advice. They are usually the most informed and helpful on giving you the kind of info you need. I have found anyone higher up rarely gives a shit. I am seeing a social worker myself now for family therapy. After months of trying to find someone, going through doctors and insurance, I found her by accident. She charges my boyfriend's insurance for our couple's visits but could see that I needed individual counseling too. She is seeing me now weekly for free because I did not have the insurance or money to pay for it. There are still decent people, you just gotta look for 'em. ((hugs))

Fuck BB!! and WTF?!? Is she in a home, or with family? Your daughter needs to be help0ed immediately. I've read lotsof good advice in here. If she's covered by Social security or Disability, she should have a case worker. If she gets any kind of gov't financial help, she should have a case worker.

More recently I caught kids stealing mail.
They say they were just "playing".
Identity theft, and whatever they can get.

BB, try contacting an independent living center in the area she lives in. They have advocates who may be able to help or steer you in the right direction to someone who can. Independent living centers are non-profit and usually most of the services are free.

Fuck, chefdaddy is in the hospital in Logan, struggling. I don't know if any of you know him, he has a shotski and runs a wonderful hobo kitchen for Utah burners, and the Black Rock Canoe Club. I think he'll get enough help from the Utah community, but felt I should post here in case anyone else knows him and can help. His property taxes are due at the end of the month, and he'll be in the hospital for another two weeks. Fuck. If anyone wants to help, I have his paypal info.

Fuck. Blew a damn tire on the freeway yesterday. That was fucking fun. had to cross 4 lanes of moderately heavy traffic to get to the side of the road. Turnes out the spare on the house was a little underated and is running on the sidewall. So I an gonna have to get 2 tires. Fortunately a road hazard vehicle stopped just as I was about to walk the spare off the freeway to put air in it. Unfortuately he crossthyreaded one of the lugnuts and it will not go all the way on or come off. So I am running on a fucking tire that Is not rated for this vehicle weight, one of the lugnuts is effectively "missing" and I cannot afford to get new tires anytime soon either.

Due to the economy I am forced to close my store after 14 years. Although not the end of the world - it just feels like my career has taken a fucking huge giant step backwards.
