Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Zeke is absolutely right. You must use your time wisely, it is your only resource. First Burn? Prepare. There is no such thing as being over prepared. I thought, read, made lists, lurked here - I was pretty ready. Guy I went with, 7 year vet, kinda' made fun of me, till Thursday when he needed my multimeter. OK, point is, read everything and read it again, and make those lists and get all that stuff together so you will not only not be a burden virgin, you'll be at least pulling your weight. And those slow months are the wonderful time you must use. Savor it. It is an extetntion of your playa time. Don't wait. Also, it spread the costs over a longer period of time. Probably find some special stuff you must have - good to find out early, use your time while its slow. Postage is cheaper. But, it all comes down to a camping trip in the desert. And one more thing: Prepare!
