I had posted recently and see that the post was deleted without note or notice.

It was a link to a news item about the lawsuit betweem the LLC and Pershing County NV. I made no comment, just posted the link and it was deleted.

Are you sure it wasn't put into another thread on the same topic? Or it could be under quarentine and you won't find out until action is taken.

Just because it seems a little wierd that the mod team would do that.

And then, having said that, I wonder if I'm just an apologist for the mod team...

Nope, that's the one. Did you resurrect it? I looked at "My Posts" and it was gone.

Ah, that explains why I couldn't find it. There should be a way to track that... but what the hell am I talking about, we can't even fix the search function LOL.

There is a way to track it, you click on your name (or any other user's) and then on the profile page click the 'Search User's Posts' link. Brings them right up.

Searching on ePlaya has been working reasonably well for nearly a year now (prior to that there had been a technical issue that was preventing it from indexing properly). Will it be the best search on the planet? Never. It's the standard search functionality built into a piece of open source software. But it does a pretty half decent job of keyword searching (as opposed to phrase matching), and if you're looking for stuff from specific users and use the 'Advanced Search' (link right below the general search box) it works really well.

The site's also relatively optimized for google's (and yahoo's/bing's) search engines, so adding the keyword 'eplaya' to whatever you're using in your preferred name-brand search engine can often do the trick - though in their cases it depends on how frequently they're updating their data. For me, ePlaya's search has been good enough (since last fall) that I no longer rely on 3rd party search to find stuff.
