While I'm not privy to the restoration team rating methodologies, that looks like an anomalous MOOP rating result--like it was rated with a different standard than the rest. I'd expect that most MOOP problems should be contained within or at the edges of "natural" borders like camp or village outlines, except maybe hotspots. In this case, however, the yellow intersects large villages such as Barbie Death Village, Gigsville, and two others. While it doesn't rule out that those areas were MOOPy, it seems like something is up with how that stripe was reported.

Retrofrolic is at the end of that strip and I wanted to see how they did.
trilobyte wrote:Bbadger - the big yellow areas were not rated using a different standard. My understanding is that all the spots are double-checked and subsequently rated by the same individuals on the playa restoration team. I'll try and catch up to DA on Sunday and see if he can shed any light on what could have happened.

We've been up for a few days now. See Tnt's post right above yours. All green but one spot we evidentially truly fucked up on. Windmill/evap pond location. I'd like to know what was wrong with the spot for mega correction next year.

Sf Decom update - according to the resto folk I talked to, the map isn't exactly a bible, and one should only be worried if their camp is majorly red or has black spots. The difference between green and yellow could be slower resto folk in one area, or an overzealous scribe, or a dust storm. The big yellow line was a bunch of scribes in training, from what I heard. The final sf map had some big green spots in the middle of that yellow line as well, not like the one online.

Is there another way to view the MOOP Map? I'm really curious to see how well BDV did. And don't suggest Facebook, my filters won't let me access that site.

No, I was just quoting the source. I was not in SF. If I ever make it to SF, I'm not leaving
