Will Pershing County's legal team point to this incident as a reason for which they need to raise their fees from $180,000 in 2012 to $400,000 in 2013?

A rape crisis counsellor is experienced at supporting victims - who are often in shock - and capable of helping her - or him - ...In addition, we need Ranger training to support their ability to follow up with camps - not just on doing proper searches etc. - but also to engage essential and healthy conversations within camps impacted by sexual assault and rape - whether their campmate was a victim or a perpatrator.

Just so you know, there are already several layers of support available. The Emergency Services Department (ESD) Mental Health Branch already includes sexual assault specialists who are available 24 hours a day during the event. The same team has the responsibility to support the victim, but also following up with camp members, as you suggest. In addition, the Black Rock Ranger Green Dots (peer counselors), also provide great support to camps in addition to the ranks of Ranger volunteers out there helping keep our fair city safe. Lastly, the amazing community members behind the The Bureau of Erotic Discourse (BED) are involved with grass roots community education and proactive work.
